Re: Gratuity- Dining Plan- Can you charge the gratuity to your room?

I only have my credit card linked to MY room key. If DH wants to charge, he needs to use his own credit card; I'm funny that way. I pay for my own card...of course, it's his paycheck.

That doesn't make sense. Especially if he's the one writing the checks to pay.
That and whose name is the room in anyway?

So, if you're in a group your card can only be linked to one credit card? You can't link seperate cards to seperate accounts? I'm just curious because it will be myself and three friends traveling together, and I'm thinking we're going to have to figure out who's credit card we're gonna use

Re: Gratuity- Dining Plan- Can you charge the gratuity to your room?

As much as possible, we put charges to the room key. In the early years the kids did not have priv. but later into their teens we added them, but they knew they were responsible to pay it from their vacation funds. We found that the fact they knew we could see their spending added to the accountability. And we really like having a clear total at the end of the trip of just what we spent.

I will admit, my husband does check in periodically to review the billings to date but he would admit it's because when he's on vacation - he's REALLY on vacation He tends to say "yes" far more often the "no". In contrast to at home, I have to hold him back on vacation spending.

I guess that means we have a balanced relationship.

See we are the opposite. We had the charge available but didn't use it. I used cash whenever possible. If I charge, I forget how much eventually and I don't want any surprises. Dh might shoot me, or vice versa. He's worse than me sometimes.
