Eating at the Swan? (and getting to Fantasia Gardens?)

Hi y'all! :) I had a question about the Swan. I've never stayed there and wondered what their eating options are like. On our "day off" we are going to go mini-golfing at Fantasia Gardens, and I heard that the easiest way to get there was to take a bus/boat to the Swan? If that's so, we were going to eat breakfast at that resort. (With Disney Club you get 20% off!!)

So, basically 2 questions: what are the restaurants options at the Swan/Dolphin, and the easiest way to get to Fantasia Gardens?

I actually like the Dolphin Fountain (I think that's what it is called) across the way from the Swan, in the Dolphin hotel! It is a like a 50's style ice cream/soda shop...it is VERY reasonably priced and the food is delicious!!! And the ice cream is not bad either...;)

We stayed at the Dolphin last Christmas and ate at Gulliver's, the Dolphin Fountain and Coral Cafe. The breakfast at Coral Cafe was a character breakfast and was very good. We loved the Dolphin Fountain - ate there twice and our entire family dived into one of the Dolphin Spash sundaes - a scoop of every ice cream flavor they have in a huge bowl with whipped cream and cherries!. All nine of us got a spoon and it was great fun. The staff all came around and watched us - they say they have a lot of fun making those! Gulliver's was good, too. It was a buffet and there was a wide selection.

As far as Fantasia Gardens is concerned - just walk over to the Dolphin and then cross the street to Fantasia Gardens. No boat.

Have fun! :)

I have to agree , the Dolphin Fountain is a great place to eat. The hot dogs were great, and try the "moe, larry & curly fries!!! The onion rings are great , too. You do get alot of fries, and onion rings, so sharing is a good way to go. One thing I would not share my chile dog with anyone!!! If you belong to the Disney Club, they did give us a discount there. It never hurts to ask!!! :) JOANN

Eating at the Swan?

One of our favorites is the breakfast buffet at the Garden Grove Cafe in the Swan. The restaurant is beautiful, the buffet has a nice variety of items, including an omlette station, and I have yet to find it crowded.
We have eaten breakfast there nearly every trip and have never stayed at the Swan. For us, it has been worth the trip from any of the resorts.

Another one of their REALLY good meals is the Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad in a warm bread bowl!!! I have never tasted Caesar dressing so delicious!!! It is the perfect Caesar salad! My DH actually asked for the recipe on year and the chef was gone, and all of the other cooks in the kitchen tried to get the exact recipe for us, and couldn't be sure of exact ingredients! So we never did get the recipe! :( But if I go again, hopefully I will be able to get it! The food there seriously is REALLY good and VERY affordable!! We love that place!!! ENJOY!!!;)
