My biggest gripe is if they don't accept DDP then the online reservation system should CLEARLY and REPEATEDLY state so. If a place doesn't want to be part of the DDP maybe then they shouldn't be part of the ADR system.
Sorry, but not everyone who makes ressie's does DDP, even if they are staying on-site.
That wouldn't be very fair, now would it.

I agree that all restaurants should be part of the ADR system, online or not. However, it should be clearly stated, as part of the booking process, that you are booking a restaurant that is not part of the DDP. I know they usually ask when booking by phone, not sure how it works online.

As far as the current 2010 Dining Guide, and the hope that this is simply an "incomplete" list......I don't see why Disney wouldn't just continue to use the 2009 list with a clause "locations to change without notice" until the 2010 restaurants have given a final confirmation. Once the list is printed, for the said year, it really shouldn't be changing so drastically.

I agree with them clearly stating it, but don't agree that they should be removed from the ADR system.

You're right. We always stay in a Disney resort but we don't use the dining plan.

We should see the complete list by the end of the year. Make your ADRs as scheduled and adjust them only if the restaurants don't end up participating. I really would go with last year's list and feel safe picking any of the ones on there. The privately owned restaurants always jump on board at the last possible minute.

Well they need to make any changes like...NOW, because the booking window for our January trip starts this week. My friend is considering getting the DDP, but several of her favorite restaurants are on the list. I doubt she'll even get the plan as is.

Re: Changes to 2010 Disney Dining Plan...

I ask a cm when making adrs for a previous trip and he told me that they expected the restaurants to again accept the dining plan, so I went ahead and made those adrs as well. All of the old restaurants rejoined the dining plan program and I had no problems. I say go ahead and make them. If they have been on the plan in the past they most likely will be again.

Re: Changes to 2010 Disney Dining Plan...

So basically at Epcot you can get burgers, fries and sandwiches at the US pavilion? That's a rip. We were going to do San Angel next time for TS and I was going to do Japanese for QS. Why eliminate Disney owned restaurants in the Parks?

We just got back from our trip and we had DDP. We ate at Earl of Sandwich and it was awesome! I could tell the manager wasn't thrilled about the DDP though. We also tried Wolfgang Puck's Cafe on the DDP and I wasn't impressed. Wife and kids' food was good, mine wasn't worth the price and it was free!

I'll try to post the link, but here is a list of those that have been removed:

Boardwalk: Big River Brewing
Coronado: Completely removed off list
Epcot: Boulangerie Patisserie, Cantina de San Angel, Lotus Blossom Cafe, Tangierine Cafe, Yakitori House, Chefs de France, Nine Dragons Restaurant, Restaurant Marrakesh, San Angel Inn Restaurante, Teppan Edo, Tokyo Dining, Tutto Italia Ristorante
Animal Kingdom: Yak and Yeti Restaurant
Downtown Disney: Cookes of Dublin, Earl of Sandwich, Wolfgang Puck both Express and Cafe, Planet Hollywood, Raglan Road

I really hope this is a bad mis-print!!

The 2010 DDP doesn't include the CSR restaurants but don't be alarmed because WDW didn't included them on the 2009 DDP until 1/2/09. They just have to work out the agreements with the outside companies. Remember the restaurants in question are not operated by WDW.

That's the point here. These aren't Disney owned restaurants in the parks.
Most of the international showcase restaurants are operated by the pavilions' sponsors, operators, or whatever you want to call them.
They may eventually get staffed through Disney's college program and other international internship programs, but the restaurant operations in each pavilion are "owned" by that pavilion.
That's why they aren't automatically dining plan participants, but eventually wind up going with the flow when they realize how much traffic the plan steers into them.

Re: Changes to 2010 Disney Dining Plan...

My gripe it that you spend a lot of time and money (even if you have "free" dining) to not have EVERY location participate.

Here's what happend to me. I planned TRex as last counter service before the flight home. I happened to notice that they charged my Kona breakfast to credits rather than my room as I requested, (didn't notice until after the fact) which ticked me off.

But what would have been even worse is that if they hadn't I would have had lost a table service meal, and when I'm paying $40 a day per person, I would have been REALLY not happy.

Disney should make ALL places on WDW property participate. If they think they are worth more than a TS credit they could make it a 2TS location and let us decide. They push the dininig plans way to much and it is a REASONABLE expectation for a resturant on Disney property to participate in the DDP.
