So, what's the real deal with these meal vouchers?

I've read several posts mentioning meal vouchers, some like them and others don't. Some people are apparently having problems with the company you order them from and others are not.
Do they make sense for some meals and what company offer them? Is there more than just one company and how do we find out about them?
Thanks for the help.

Welcome to DC, buzzfan! I just received all of my vouchers for my August trip. You just have to do a little research to see where you can get the best deals, but one of the great things about these vouchers, is that many of your meals can be PRE PAID, which is a big plus! You can sign up with Connections 123 or Deal Pass for $1.00 for a trial month. It's up to you to decide if you want to continue the membership or not...it can be expensive! They offer CHARACTER BREAKFAST certificates, KINGDOM LUNCH vouchers (to be used in many of the really nice restaurants...TIP...go for the lunch last seating and have this as your NICE dinner!) and lastly, QUICK AND CASUAL LUNCH/DINNER VOUCHERS...which can be used at mostly all of the counter service restaurants in WDW...and also includes some great places like BEACHES AND CREAM at the Yacht and Beach Club Villas!

They can be a good deal, you just need to do a little research. Oh, and I received my vouchers 2 days after I ordered them by Federal Express FOR NO CHARGE!!! :D

If you escape unharmed, they can be a good deal. If you don't, they are a horrible deal. Please read this page before going any further:

Thanks for the info. I do have a couple more questions. Did you get your through Connections123 or Deal Pass and what is the cost of each? Is that information you can find on there website?
Has anyone bought these trough Deal Pass. Connections seems to be a little shakey.

Dealpass IS Connections - Deal Pass sets up smaller sites to sell the different memberships though.

I did sign on as an annual member, going to see how it goes this time. They've been very clear on the phone about selling things this time around (I tried their membership in the fall and was completely disgusted)

Quick and Casual vouchers sell for $11. and some change.

Breakfast Vouchers sell for $17.50.

Annual membership is $89.95 (which I consider in addition to the cost of the vouchers I purchase)

There's a bit of information here on Disney Central about the different experiences with the company, if you do a search.

I actually tried to sign up for Connections, but was not able to do so. It said it was not available in the area where I lived. The annual fee for that was $79.95. So I signed on for the trial membership with Deal Pass, and according to the website, the Simple Escapes membership is $139.95 per year! UGH! That is ridiculous...So I ordered my passes on Wed last week and they were here by Friday! And I cancelled my membership today with no questions asked.

Oh, and the Vacation Kingdom Lunch Vouchers are $30 with Deal Pass...these are a really good deal if you use them as your dinner! (Like I said before, go to the last seating of lunch and that could be your sit down dinner). The Kingdom Lunch vouchers include APPETIZER, ENTREE, DESSERT, DRINK...so go ahead, get the most EXPENSIVE things on the menu...it won't matter! ;)

There are three types of vouchers:(dealpass/connections)

Breakfast: good for any sitdown breakfast including the character meals(not Swan/Dolphin) and these are 17.50

quick&casual: these are good for almost all the counter service restaurants at the parks(except some carts) and many of the food courts in resorts. Good for one entree, side, drink, dessert for 11.25

Kingdom luncheon: good for sitdown restaurants in parks/resorts but only for lunch. They are 27.75 or so.

We have used the breakfast and q&c and love them. Nice to have some meals pre-paid. CM know about them and you don't have any problems using them. They also include tax and gratuity so they are good deal in that respect.

We are connections members (yearly membership was $79.00)and have always had great service from them; although others have had issues. If you join for a trial $1/one month, make sure you cancel on time or they will charge you for the year. You can buy up to 40 of each kind of voucher per year. Others told me that they will be increasing the yearly fee significantly and if they do, I may not rejoin. They also have great discounts on park passes at IOA, US and WDW along with Blockbuster, TOYRUS and other restaurants so we have gotten our $79! Hope this helps. We have seen people selling these vouchers for WAY over value at e-bay..I don't recommend that. IMHO

Orlando Biz sells Meal Vouchers!!!

I have been searching for the Quick and Casual Meal Vouchers and the Character Dining Vouchers. I didn't want to risk having the "experience" with dealpass/connections or get ripped off on ebay. I have found a company in Orlando, by the name of Florida Orlando Tickets. This company sells the breakfast vouchers for 14.00; lunch/dinner vouchers for 17.00; Character Dining Vouchers for Adults 20.00/Children 12.00(I'm going from memory on this one). They will ship to your home, hotel, or you can pick them up. I thought others would find this information helpful. I realize that connections/dealpass is offering them for 11.25 each, however, if you are just wanting to purchase these vouchers without a catch, like me, then this is definitely the way to go.

I have a question with regard to the Magic Kingdom Lunch pass that I have read about. I read that it is $30 but where can you use this at. (It is my first time at Disney) Can it be used at the Rainforest Cafe? Where else do you find you get a deal with it?

Yes, Navywife...the vouchers can in fact be used at Rainforest Care. Basically, these vouchers are good for lunch in MANY of the upscale restaurants at WDW. They are worth the money...if you use them wisely. Do some research, and if you want to, make sure to order the most expensive thing on the menu! After all, it's paid for (as well as tax and tip!!!) We intend to use them for our dinner (and go to the latest lunch seating). ;)

Thank you for the info. Is there somewhere else that I can find the list of where they can be used. Also are they sold through Disney or Connections? And lastly, (I know I am a pain) do they sell a kids voucher or do you just pay for the childs meal there?

I almost forgot...you get these through Connections 123 or Deal Pass, and they are $30. I know those companies offer some child vouchers, but not sure if they do for this particular voucher. Anyway, enjoy! ;)

Kim thank you so much!!!!! I have printed out the list for my Disney pack so I wont forget. I am going to Disney for the first time in Nov and really want it to be magical for all of us. Some of those resturants seem like good deals. I wanted to go to Le Cellier but couldnt fit it in. So I think we will just do a late lunch and pick up something easy for dinner. What is the latest seating for lunch I wonder.:)
