California Gril & Fireworks

I have a PS for 7:10 the night of the fireworks. Will I be able to see from my table? Should I make earlier PS (6:10) and just hang around Contemporary to watch fireworks? Have 4 & 6 year old with us and want them to enjoy the fireworks?

First, check the park operating hours to make sure the fireworks are scheduled for the night you'll be at the California Grill. There are no fireworks scheduled on the nights the Magic Kingdom closes at 7 p.m. or earlier.

As for being able to see the fireworks from your table, your view depends somewhat on where you're seated. The restaurant is glassed in across its entire front, but the best tableside viewing is at the window seats closest to the Magic Kingdom. You'll be able to see the fireworks from other tables, too, but just not as well. Often, diners leave their tables and move closer to the windows for a better view, which can block the view of others.

The California Grill also has an outdoor viewing area where guests can get an even better look at the fireworks, but it can get crowded out there.

The California Grill, by the way, is a fabulous restaurant -- one of the best on the property. You will thoroughly enjoy your meal.

Thanks for info. The night we have PS @ 7:20 the fireworks are at 8pm. Maybe we should move the dinner to 6:10 and ensure that we are done eating and can move out to the viewing area.

I wouldn't worry about changing your reservation. You'll probably be able to see just fine from your table, and you can always get up and go outside to the viewing area and then return to your table. I've heard Disney is getting a little strict about not letting non-California Grill guests out on the observation deck because of the crowding problem. And although I'm sure you wouldn't have any trouble because you'll have dined there, I think it might be better to have a currently active table just to be on the safe side.

I would stick with the 7:20 reservation. When you get there ask them if there is a table by the window near the MK. We had our wedding reception there last year and did get a table with an awesome view and we were able to go outside to the observation deck. It was so awesome. The food there is the best on property I think.
You'll love it there. Also just a thought if you did want to see the fireworks again on another night head over to the Poly and sit on the beach/hammocks. It is so awesome. :)

Hey, WedInDisney...how cool to have your wedding reception there...must have been incredible!

Sleeping Beauty, I would agree with others about not changing your seating arrangements. Def ask a CM when you 'check in' for your reservation if you can get a window seat....if not, it's no problem, really.

We were there last year in September...when the time comes around, the lights all dim, the music dies away...and suddenly the narration and voiceover from the Castle is piped in to the restaurant...everybody ups and leaves to go to the windows or observation deck...and the show begins...but hey, wouldn't want to give everything away! ;) Just don't be surprised if everyone bursts into spontaneous applause at the end!

And as for the food? A delicious display in itself...you will have a fabulous time.
