The 50's cafe is one of my favorite restaurants!

The food is good, especially the roast beef. It will melt in your mouth. For dessert, the Dad's brownie surprise (? think that's what it was called) is a wonderful treat for the family to share.

The theme is fun and the waiter/waitress's are very entertaining. Remember to put your elbows on the table and see what kind of reaction occurs! My 5 & 7 year old had a fun visit and enjoyed the food although they didn't like it when I got (or kept getting) in trouble for bad manners!

The other plus is that the price is lower as compared to some of the other PS restaurants but you still leave satisfied and with a memorable meal.

It's definitely worth a visit!

Regards,

I would definiately go to 50's prime time. It was so much fun and the food was good also. Try a milkshake very good. I had a cheese burger and it was so big I couldn't finish it all. Since you have already went to the sci fi I would suggest giving 50's prime time a try. Also I have been to sci fi and thought that was fun too.

We like the 50s a lot as it is a great change from burgers and chicken sandwiches. I seem to recall they had a killer meatloaf and the roast beef was very good as well.

The real kick is that the "kitchens" look just like I remember my relatives' homes looking. It really is a time warp for those of us that grew up in the late 50s / early 60s!

We enjoy both and I don't think you could go wrong with either. Since you have already been to the Sci Fi try 50's PT for something new.

We were there in July and enjoyed it very much. Our server was great...not too much and not too little, he played his part perfectly. My DS (5) was passed out cold and missed the whole thing but would have enjoyed it if I had been able to wake him up.

Is it reasonable to just walk in at either of these places, without a PS?

WE loved the 50's cafe... Its such a neat place to eat. To quote another part of this post "Make sure you put your elbows on the table" :D
Oh and try the peanut butter and jelly milkshake. Yummy :)
They also have a Lilo and Stich drink that the kids will love. It even comes with a glowing colored ice cube.... :)

We didnt make a PS, when we were at MGM it dawned on me that I wanted to eat there. So we walked inside and there was about a 2 hour wait... I didnt think that was bad at all since it was still early and there were things that we still wanted to do in MGM so we just went back....
It worked out for the best because as we started to walk back towards the cafe 1/2 hour before we had to be there it started to rain. We went inside and sat at the bar area and waited. Just as we sat down it started to downpour. By the time that we were done eating the rain had stopped. Talk about timing.
