I agree .. I feel sorry for him ..but it was an accident. I can see him sueing for medical cost and lost work, as for what his wife was awarded mmm that seems OTT in my opinion. I read in the link that the waitress shouldnt have been carrying it at shoulder height ..but I have been there to eat .. and how else would she have been carrying the tray through the tables and with kids running about? actually I think its a blessing that it was not his child that got burned by the coffee.
thanks though Park Hopper.

I waitressed for years in high school and college and it was a number one no-no to put coffee pots on trays - it's soooo easy to get knocked down by running kids or drop a tray because it's slimy underneath, etc. You're supposed to be carrying only that, in your hands. I do feel bad for the waitress, but she blundered. I can just imagine how horrible she feels though.

I don't care how much potential profit can be made by serving coffee but if I had a resturant,

I wouldn't serve it.;)

How does Starbucks do it?

I can't believe they award for that. I just didn't think there were that many wives who feel that is a loss!

I agree with the opinion of sueing for medical care and time lost from work, but for that. God this is why our society is what it is. Money hungry and lazy. (not all of us) I'm sorry but, that law suit is dispicable. That poor waitress. I can't believe it was anything more than an accident. God some people.:devil

Sorry all sore spot for me. I was in an accident (not my fault) and the other driver tried to sue me and my insurance company for the same thing. I was going to have one of my friends come on to him to prove that he could "consort", but found that tactic just as discusting as his. He was on the "cell phone" and side-swipped me. I'm surprised he didn't sue the person he was talking to. Like I said sore spot for me.
