MAMA MELROSE Is she Fantasmic?

Well I dont know what I was thinking. I waited tooo long to book my Fantasmic dinner package. I Could not get the Brown Derby booked for the package and had to settle for Mama Melroses.

I guess I wasnt sure if I was going for the package or not. The whole seating on the left thing. But a gaggle of dance school moms convinced me that waiting in line with 3 young children for 2 hours is not that much fun.

So I booked Momma Meroses for dinner ??(4:20) the only time I could get 4 days later than I originally planned.

It makes me wonder than my non-peak vacation is gonna be more crowed than expected. Oh well

Has anyone eaten at Momma's? And my question is do you get to order off the menu for the locked in Price of 28.99??? What do you get???:nervous

We haven't eaten at Mama Melroses (honestly, we had a ressie, walked in and looked at the menu and it wasn't for us!)

We did a fantasmic dinner package at Hollywood and Vine and LOVED IT!!! Can you get a ressie for H & V??

Here is a copy of the menu for Mama Melroses:http://wdwig.com/menu/men_mmd.htm

Funny how everyone is diiferent.

We at at Hollywood and Vine in 2003 for the character lunch. We didnt lik it at all. Food was over cooked and cold. Plus, My hubby dislikes buffets.

I did look over the menus for Mamma and it look like it will work for us. We like our Italian food. I just think 10.00 for a child menu is expensive. Ecspecially since I have a 3 year old and 2 girls who eat like little birds.

We ate at Mama Melrose for the Fantasmic show once. It is a very nice Italian restaurant. You get to order anything off the menu. (or at least you could back when we went a couple years ago.) They are also very accommodating for kids who like their pasta plain. Even though you think you wont like the seating for Fantasmic, it really isnt bad at all and also makes for a quick get away after Fantasmic is over. Also, since you have a nice early PS time, you will have time to see more attractions while everyone else is standing in line to see Fantasmic. :) Have a great time!

You can always cancel....

We have eaten at Mama Melrose with 6 kids, three were small. It was a very enjoyable dinner (one of the adults is an excellent italian cook and he enjoyed the food). They really make it easy with kids. BUT we ate there on our own no package.

We once had a Fantasmic Package booked during NON-peak time. When we checked on the PS (at the desk in the park) about other options maybe...........they told us that they did not expect the wait to be long for Fantasmic if we didn't want to use the PS. So we did not. We walked right into the arena about 30 minutes after they opened the gate, found seats about a third of the way up from front just left of center. They were great seats!
(they told us the PS seats were in back and not that great, just that it guarantees a seat)

I would always check with to see if they expect big crowds and verify where the seating is. You can always cancel then. I think dinner there is fine and our food certainly was freshly cooked opposed to a buffet, if that was your concern.

ENJOY :)

PPE is right. You don't always need a dinner package to ensure getting a good Fantasmic seat. We've seen Fantasmic countless times and always get to the theater about 30-45 minutes before the show and never have had a problem getting a good seat.

If you do want to do the dinner package, though, don't sweat Mama Melrose's. The food is good and plentiful.
