How do I get to CHEF MICKEYS after the Fireworks at Magic Kingdom?
I have reservations for Chef Mickey's :) at 9:15PM after the 8:00pm "wishes" firework show.
What is the best way to get through this massive crowd and over to Chef Mickey's by 9:00pm???? :nervous |

First of all, welcome to DisneyCentral. I think if it were me I would walk to the CR from the MK. My second choice choice would be to take the monorail over. Have fun, we love Chef Mickeys.

It's a very easy walk, it may be a 5 minutes walk.

We've walked it, too. It only takes a few minutes. The monorail would be my first choice, but not right after the fireworks!!

Without question, I would walk it. From the front gate at Mk to the front door of the Contemporary, it will take 5-10 mins max. If you were to go for the monorail you'd be competing with several thousand other similarly minded folk.
It's a fairly pleasant walk anyway, and it will build up your appetite ;) ...standing below the Contemporary and gazing up at it you get a good feeling for just how massive this structure is... Enjoy your meal! CM

...Watch the fireworks in the vicinity of Mainstreet Train Station, then walk to Cont. Even if you take your time, it's only about a 10-15 minute walk.

I'm with them, walking is your best bet. The crowd will be so massive, that going for the rail could take forever. You could always head out as its starting to wrap up and watch the rest of the show while walking to avoid that "middle of a sandwich" feeling you get when packed in. Personally, I always roll out just as things are ending. I can't breathe with all of those people squishing me.

Alternatively (if I'm not in a hurry), we just hang around after the fireworks, waiting for the crowds to die down, just people watching. We just grab a bench near Walt 'n' Mickey in front of the castle and watch it cycle through it's various colours.
Once the crowds have died down (20 mins or so) we amble down Main Street, maybe taking in a shop or two, before heading for our resort bus. Course, if we were to have a car there, that's another matter. I've heard the queues for cars to get out can be pretty horrendous... CM
