Hi Kelligad! There are lots of great buffets, but our favorites, especially if you've got kids, are Crystal Palace in MK (hosted by Pooh & friends) & Hollywood & Vine @ MGM. They DO have discounts for kids & they're both character hosted. Bring your appetite & camera.

Kelligad,
Honestly, I've never had a bad buffet at WDW (yes, I have met buffets that I haven't liked before!). The quality has always been good and the selection excellent. You can't go wrong and the kids will like not having to wait for the food. For prices, we'll nothing is cheap. Using Crystal Palace as an example, the Passporter says that for lunch and dinner, kids are $9.95 and adults are $16.95 for lunch and $19.95 for dinner. I think those prices hold true at most places. Oh...and we don't hate when you ask questions! :) GDSRN, We've eaten at every place in MGM except Brown Derby. Of all the places, I'd recommend Mama Melrose's or going to a nearby resort. While I like the idea of the Sci-Fi, I think the execution and the food isn't very good. Prime Time is fun, but for some reason my wife doesn't want to go back. We stumbled into Mama's on our last trip; we needed a break from the heat and crowds and they weren't crowded. It was really, really good. Bruce

I don't like Sci-Fi, too loud, bad food and the movie is not funny at all. It has great theming, but overall, I will never go back again. We usually just eat lunch in the park, and are done by time for dinner, so we go somewhere else like the Boardwalk or EPCOT. (brumcg, did your wife have a run in with some green beans at 50's PT?) |

Last time we were there, a 50 year old man had to stand with his nose against the wall for twenty minutes because the waiter had taken away his shake because he hadn't eaten his green beans. When the waiter wasn't in the room, he snuck over and stole a drink of his shake . Of course, everyone told on him, like good cousins do, and so he got in trouble. I don't think his kids stopped laughing the entire twenty minutes. I think much of the enjoyment of 50's Prime Time comes from your server. If they are good at their job, it is a wonderful experience, but if they are not, it is just another meal. |
