Help! Need food suggestion
We will be checking into GF on Saturday for 7 days YA HOOOO! I can't wait, and none of my three kids have ever been. They are 12, 15, 17. I have been tring to make somewhat of a eating schedule. Some of the eats we will just do as we see a place or get hungary and may go off site. But, I wanted to make sure to hit some of the special place's that I have heard about.
I do have Priority seating at Chef Mickey's for Breakfast one day, and Crystal Palace another day, and 1900 Park Fare another day and Liberty Tree for dinner one day. What I would like to do is find a special place to go on Sunday, we will be at AK all day. I also need a good late lunch or dinner place for MK that you don't have to do Priority seating. PLEASE HELP! Thanks ! ! ! |

Whoa! Trying to feed 3 teenagers at WDW! Are they all boys, girls or both? 'All you can eat' restaurants are your best bets. Have you thought about either Mickey's Backyard BBQ or Hoop-De-Doo on Sunday evening? AK closes earlier than the other parks, so you would have plenty of time to do the park and then go to Fort Wilderness for dinner. Or how about Planet Hollywood in DTD? My 15 yo DS loves to go there. The Whispering Canyon at Wilderness Lodge is a fun place to go with teenagers. My favorite pic of DS is from there..."My sweet little buttercup!" :o If I think of any others, I will post them. Have a great trip! I would love to stay at the GF!:)

Make it O'hana for dinner. All you can eat shrimp (huge shrimp!) steak, turkey, pork, appetisers, and everything is ABSOLUTELY AWESOME....
It's in the Polynesian, so just a quick ride to the GF.....

I have to agree with both posters do far. Mickey's Backyard BBQ is a balst and the food is soooo good, ribs, chicken, hotdogs, mac & cheese, potato salad, slaw, baked beans, corn bread, corn on the cob, sheet cake and watermelon. Drinks are included as well as beer and wine for the grown ups.
'Ohana is a must do for my family every trip. The food in out of this world and it is all you can eat family style. Check out this site for menus for all the WDW resturants. I have found planning is key in saving time at WDW. I hate to go from restaurant to restaurant checking out menus trying to find one that will please the whole group. http://wdwig.com/dining.htm Have fun!!!

I agree Ohana's is a great place. We can't do a trip without eating there and the food is so good. I have three DS 8, 12 and 15 so they're near your kids ages and they really like Ohana's. The other place we enjoyed was 1900 Park Fare I see that's on your list. Whispering Canyon Cafe is another great place with kids and it's an all you can eat buffet or you can order from a small selections of dinner. The Liberty Tree (also on your list) has great food. To answer your question about eating at AK why not try the AKL offerings Jiko or Boma's I've never been but they always get such high mark in all the reviews (my sons are a little to picky for them). Lastly, the Cape May Cafe in the Beach Club is probably one of my favorites because my guys love clams and crab legs. Enjoy your trip and welcome to DC. Wel'l be right behind you in 21 days Wilderness Lodge then on to Beach Club for 9 days.

I didn't see this the first time I replied sorry. Try The Plaza Restaurant in the MK for a great meal. We had PS for it in July but it is worth checking out to see if you can get in as a walk up. It was busy but there were never a lot of people waiting for a table. After a week of eating big meals The Plaza Restaurant was a wonderful break. The sandwiches were wonderful and refreshing. We ate there twice during our week as it was so good. We had a PS the first time and walked up the second time a made a PS for an hour later when we would be ready to eat. I would eat here again in a heartbeat.

Check out Boma in the AKL. It is a great experience. I agree that Ohana is a must do.

Like Disney Teacher suggested, try the Plaza Restaurant for a late lunch or dinner at MK. We ate a late lunch there last time, no PS, and were seated in about 10 minutes. The food was very good and filling. I couldn't decide if I wanted a cup of their chicken soup and the waiter brought it to anyway, no charge! The Boma is wonderful! You should give that a try!

I have to add a vote for Whispering Canyon. It's a wonderful meal. Another favorite of mine is Chef Mickey's. I know it's a character meal, but kids and kids at heart all love it here. It's at the Contemporary and a monarail trip away from the GF>

'Ohana...without a doubt...'OHANA!!! It's the best place to eat in the entire world. (And I don't just mean WDW.) The food is absolutely incredible--just make sure you arrive with a big appetite! :D :heart

Wow!
You have a great sounding trip planned! There are so many places to eat for those starving teenagers I would request the San Angel Inn in EPCOT! and Definetely Pacos Bill for A quick bite! Great Hamburgers! :) I would suggest OHANA'S but The last time I went there It was ok! But every time after, it has been great! :) ![]()

As for the Sunday dinner when you'll be at AK all day, I also suggest Boma at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. It's all you can eat, with incredible variation on the buffet, it's the closest thing to AK, and you get to check out the Animal Kingdom Lodge, which is truly stunning. The lobby of the place is just breathtaking, and the theming of the entire place is just *incredible* --and there are more animals outside to see, in a beautiful savannah habitat.
