Restaruant Recommendation

Im heading down to WDW pretty soon and any restaraunt recommendations would be appreciated (any kind - shows, buffets, etc). Also, has anyone been to the BackYard BBQ in Fort Wilderness? Is it similar to HoopDeeDo Revue?

I'm gonna give recs for strictly the parks, as I have not dined much outside of them. As far as MK goes, a great buffet is the Crystal Palace, but make a PS. For MGM, I would say either Hollywood and Vine or 50's Prime Time Cafe (again, make a PS). For AK, definetely Rainforrest Cafe, and guess what? You should make a PS! For Epcot, the French bakery is a must experience place! And surprise, you don't need a PS! Have a great time and tell us all about it!

Don't get me started...

I hope you have a great trip! My favorites are Spoodles, great Mediterranean food on the Boardwalk ($20 per adult), Flying Fish, the freshest seafood anywhere, located on the boardwalk ($40 per adult), Jiko, african food at the Animal Kingdom Lodge ($45 per adult), Kona Cafe for breakfast in the Polynesian ($10 per adult) and 50's Prime Time Cafe, honest to goodness home cooked food just like your mother would make in MGM ($15 per adult). I also like Artist's Point in the Wilderness Lodge and Le Cellier in Canada in EPCOT, the Brown Derby in MGM. Oh, I almost forgot. The best lunch in the MK is at Harbor House. They have this ham, cheese and cole slaw salad sandwich that is to die for.

The prices above are per adult and are estimates based on past experience, and do not include any alcoholic beverages. I have found it is cheaper to not eat at buffets, except for the occasional character breakfast. Buffets are quite expensive for kids, and my kids don't eat a lot. All of the places I listed have inexpensive kids meals (under $5). I would feel comfortable taking my kids to any of them except Jiko and Artist's Point.

As far as buffets, I Boma is great, as is Cape May Cafe. I also love Crystal Palace in the MK for breakfast.

Woo-hoo, Mickey left me some openings!

We'd recommend Akershus and Marrakesh in Epcot. Akershus is a great buffet, and Marrakesh is table service with belly dancing entertainment. They are currently our 2 favorite restaurants in all of WDW - but we have many more to go.

If you like Character Breakfasts, we really liked Donald's Breakfastosaurus in AK. You get to see Donald (a tough character to find) and the buffet was quite good.

LOL, those two were on my list, but I left them off so I didn't sound like I was naming every restaurant on property. They are quite good, and almost as good as Le Cellier.

I have never been to Restaurantosaurus for breakfast, I have heard from others it is quite good. Don't go for lunch though, it is a qausi-McDonalds, and is not good.

Richard, sorry about that, but PS stands for Priority Seating, or in other words, a reservation. You can make a PS at any WDW restaurant by calling (407) WDW-DINE.

Mickey's BackYard BBQ is awesome!!!!! I have never seen nor eaten so much tasty bbq food in my life!!!! It was never ending and was all delicious! It is expensive, a friend's dad treated us that night, so I don't think I would go back just because of the price. However, if money is not an issue, don't eat all day and then go there for dinner and pig-out!

Thanks dannysbelle, I Love  good bbq, so when we go back next time we'll add it to our list of places to eat. Is it a show or just a restaurant? Thanks for any information :)
