Mexican counter service

I can't remember the name of the restraunt but it was very good. I had a wet burritio and DH had the combo plate. Both were great and more than we could eat. We had very nice seats overlooking the lagoon while we ate. We have eaten inside Mexico and except for the atmosphere there was very little difference except for the price!

Just remembered the name Cantina de San Angel!

We ate at the La Cantina de San Angel before also and found it to very good, the prices are a little less than the inside restaurant but the food quality was very similar. We were taken back at how agressive the birds were, we were sitting at a table with a good view of the lagoon and the birds kept coming right up to us sometimes landing on our table (Yikes!):nooo: to try and take our food from us. It's a shame that they have become so accustomed to people feeding them that they expect it.:(

Baloo, that is something because I almost said something about the birds in my post! There were many of them around but fortunately we didn't have any up on our table!

The Cantina is a must stop for us, as a matter of fact it is usually good for at least two or three meals each trip. My DW and I just love to sit and sip a marguarita while watching the fireworks.

I guess it must be the time of year that we go, but we have never had problems with the birds. Now at the little hut on Storm-along-bay, those birds reminded me of something from Hitchcock!

Cantina de San Angel is were we stopped on our way home (plane left at 3:00). It was a great way to end our trip EPCOT was empty no lines and there was no crowds in the World Show Case. After a leisurely stroll around WSC we had lunch at the Cantina next to the bay. Took in views (and the sun). Then headed out to the Airport.

This is one of my favorite places to eat! (margaritas) They have great food (margaritas) and I agree about the view. (margaritas)
There was one other thing I liked about this place (margaritas) but I just can't remember it... (margaritas) Oh well.;)

Did I hear someone mentioning the 'M' word?? Mmmmm.....;)

Have only eaten there once back in Sep2002. The food was good, the margaritas better and the birds were out in full force. I thought that the eating area could have been a bit cleaner, there seemed to have been a lot of abandoned and spilled food lying around (hence the birds I suppose). A guy at the table next to us started to smoke :( (and I don't mean from the hot sauce), but a CeltiaCat-stare soon made him back down...;)

I just love that whole Mexican area in general (and the fact that I can get top notch tequila there for half the UK price has nothing to do with it....)

Hey Becca, that's quite funny...coz we're doing exactly the same! Everytime I read/hear/see something that I want to try, I type it into my phone (okay, I'm a repressed gadget freak) for future use.

Maybe we should compare notes...!:D

I recall much the same over at the Rose & Crown beer garden area, back on that same trip. Cleanup at outdoor eating areas generally seemed to be a little less frequent than on previous trips.

Regardless, one of the things I like about the Cantina is that they will happily - and very quickly - make up a veggie-friendly version of their standard menu items, so it's a great spot for a quick snack, IF you can resist the temptation to linger over a margarita
