New CRT policy

Hot off the press! We have learned that Cinderella's Royal Table Character Breakfast will start requiring a credit card at time of booking as of June 9th. They will require that the lead name not be changed and that a deposit of $10.00 per adult and $5.00 per child will be charged at time of booking. All reservation must have the credit card to make the reservation and no names may be transferred to the reservation once it is booked. The cancellation policy is that you may cancel 24 hrs before your Priority Seating without losing your deposit paid and your credit card will be credited the deposit. To cancel you must call 407-WDW-DINE. This policy has been instituted because of newspaper articles that circulated about a month ago regarding a group of people flooding the phone lines trying to get reservations for others. Disney did not like the article and has now instituted this new procedure to try and level out the playing field for all guests.

Oh, that makes me so excited! Maybe now I'll actually have a chance at getting PS for the day and time I want it! It's about time they did something about it! Does anybody know if our petition ever reached them and if that had anything to do with their policy change? Just curious! :D

Well Disney acted faster then I thought they would, and I'm glad they did.

This is good news. Honestly, I don't think the petition had anything to do with the policy change. I was aware, when I started the petition, that Disney was in the process of making the change. I wasn't sure what it was going to be, but I am satisfied with the outcome, whether we helped or not.

I will let you know when I get the official announcement from Disney. I would also like to thank everyone who signed the petition, 163 as of right now! Not bad for a less than a week.

further steps need to be taken

This is a great FIRST step in fixing the problem. True that they will require CCs to make CRT PS's but i called the dining line this morning and i asked the CM if i did not have a CC could i make a PS in my name and charge it to another person's CC. SHe told me yes this could be done. Other "groups" who shall remain nameless has taken advantage of this loophole to have their people who are calling to make PS's for CRT use corporate CCs taht are maintained by their site. This will continue to allow this "group" to operate as usual. I hope Disney sees this and implements that the PS and CC have to be in the same name. Otherwise, the "brokering" and sometimes selling of PS's will continue. Disney has to do more if they truly want to "fix" the CRT PS policy.

Is it going to change any of the reservations that allready exist. We are going June 8 and I was not able to get any ps at the castle. I tried again the other day, but there had been no cancellations. What do you know?:) :) :) :)

gdsrn, the policy does not take effect until people start calling on June 9th. I would suggest that you start calling two days before you can first go, and keep calling until your last day. They hold all reservations that are cancelled and don't release them until two days before the breakfast. If that does not work, make sure you try to walkup. They sometimes have openings, you might be surprised.
