CRT BLUES!!! I need pixie dust!
Well, my elation over obtaining the coveted CRT PS didn't last long. My DH called last night from his business trip in Ohio and said we needed to move our vacation up a week. Okay so that part is good right, I get to go to WDW a week earlier. HOWEVER, I lost my CRT PS and there are NONE available for the week before!!! :madmad  :madmad
The Cast Member was real nice and said cancellations happen all the time just keep trying. I did go ahead and book the Storybook Princess one over at Epcot but my DD is going to be devastated that she isn't eating in the castle. SO I need all of you pixie dust you can muster so maybe by some miracle there will be a cancellation and I'll get CRT! I guess this is the price we pay for promotion, bu hey at least I will now have more money to spend!

Willbegone, if worse came to worse and you didn't get the ressie, maybe you could have the Epcot StoryBook Princess breakfast, as you said, and then maybe have lunch in the castle so at least she would be able to see it. I know it isn't the same as the breakfast, but maybe it would help a little? Good luck and pixie dust on the CRT reservation though!

Since you now have more money to spend;) , maybe you could go to the castle for dinner. Although it is not guaranteed, Cinderella sometimes comes by during dinner time. Who knows, you might get lucky, and your DD gets to eat inside the castle.

Why not go to 1900 Park Fare too? Isn't Cinderella there now? The idea to go to the castle for lunch or dinner may do the trick.
Also the princess breakfast at Epcot sounds lovely. I hope so I'm trying it out on my upcoming trip. I'll let you know how it is. Sending a pound or two of pixie dust for your DD. Just keep trying to get it. Maybe you will get a cancel and get lucky. I'll cross my fingers for you.

Willbegone - I had something similar happen in August. We've a family tradition of going to CRT for breakfast, but my Dad was booking through SOG and we had so many date changes to accomodate the room that we lost our ressies. I called every day, with no luck. (actually, we did get lucky and ran into open spots, but not for the right size party for us)
Anyways, the last night there, my daughter and I went to MK to ride Pooh (the *ONLY* ride she wanted to go on) and when we came out, she said she was sad we didn't get to eat at the Castle this trip. On a whim, we stopped by and asked if we could go grab a quick bite. It was five minutes to closing. It was the best thing we ever did - the dining room was close to empty, we were seated where we could watch everone leave the parks, and had quick burgers and frozen floats (to get the Cinderella mugs!) They even offered to let me eat off the children's menu (I ordered just a bowl of soup, instead) Anyways, DD said it was a much nicer meal to go in and have the 'whole castle to herself' rather than be rushed through breakfast. She said she 'felt just like a princess.' Just had to share... I was surprised to find out it is the Brick and Mortar that is the lure, rather than the princesses themselves (it is for me, too!)

Thank you so much to all of you for the encouragement.
MickyMac - That is a great story and I may just try that. Dana - We went to 1900 Park Fare last year and loved it! DD has just talked about nothing except eating with Cinderella in her castle for almost a year now and Cindy anywhere else just won't do. So here is still to hoping!

Wiibegone,
I'm sending pixie dust your way. I'm hoping that someone cancels so you can get a PS. Keep trying it - your dates changed and chances are someone elses might too. Our dates changed this year from Oct to Nov so it does happen. I'm pulling for you and your DD. Paula

Hi Willbegone
Maybe you will have luck when you get there. On our first trip to DW, we couldn't get any ressies to CRT from home and we called every morning that we were there to see if there were any cancellations. Can you imagine how surprised we were when one morning they said yes! We got to eat in the castle and it was wonderful. Good luck and keep trying!:D :D :D :D

Yes! Park Fare!
A co-worker of mine just returned from a trip to WDW with his wife and 2 daughters. There were dissapointed that they didn't get CRT but booked 1900 Pake Fare and were delighted with it.
They said the food was good and because they booked early in the evening they had LOTS of Cinderella time - she sat down at their table and talked to the girls for a long time. Many other characters from Cinderella also. I've heard the coveted CRT is coveted mainly because it's hard to get... like everyone wanted a cabbage patch doll when they were hard to get... and when you do get CRT it's crowded, rushed, mediocre food and takes place during prime before the crowds arrive time at the MK. |
