Liberty Tree Tavern vs. Chef Mickey's

I have made a PS for my boss and his family of 12 at Chef Mickeys on a Sunday night in February. The park closes at 7:00, Wishes is at 7:00 and I can get a PS for all 12 of them at Chef Mickeys at 7:45.

Here's the situation. 2 of the people in the party are in their 80's. While at home they do well getting around, but have opted to rent scooters for the 7 days they are in the parks.

I am considering suggesting to my boss to change his reservation to the Liberty Tree Tavern for a 5:15-5:30 seating so that they don't have to leave the park...the kids can be fed at a decent hour and they won't have manuver the electric scooters to the contemporary and back to a bus to the Animal Kingdom Lodge.

I have seen the menu on www.allearsnet.com and read the reviews. Doesn't sound too bad, but it doesn't sound as nice and as fun as Chef Mickeys. There are 6 kids in the party (16,12,10,6,5, and 4 years old).

What do y'all think they should do??

While the characters don't do any dancing like they do at chef Mickeys, the Liberty Tree Inn is a wonderful place to have dinner. It is ALWAYS the first place we have dinner when we get to WDW! The atmosphere is wonderul and the period costumes the characters wear are great! My kids haven't tired of it yet! I would probably go with Liberty Tree, especially to avoid the preasure to get out of the park to get the CR. This way then can take thier time when they are leaving and enjoy the fireworks show! I remeber watching the show from Liberty Square one year and view of the Fireworks was great and everyone else was crowding into the center hub in frnt of the castle to watch it and we were pretty much all alone where we were!:)

As much as I actively push Chef Mcikeys (it my favorite character meal), I have to agree with Matto. My reasons are the same as his. Maybe you can try for Chef Mickey's on another night and get a earlier PS. I have no opinion of Liberty Tree because the one PS I had there had to be cancelled.

I agree too!!! Like Dana said Chef Mickeys is my favorite character meal too. But I Love the Liberty Tree Tavern as well. It also may be easier for the older people because it is family style (at least it was when I was there) and not buffet, so they won't have to get up and down. It's really nice inside too, very quiet almost....relativly speaking;) . The rush rush rush to have to get over to Chef Mickey's for a certain time as the park closes may be to much, for both the young and old!!

It all depends. If you are renting the scooters then yeah I would say: The Tavern

If they are yours, then go for Chef Mickey's! It is on of my personal favorites at Disney!! I know that it is all one floor and i am sure there is an elevator to get from the Monorail Platform.

Another vote for Liberty Tree Tavern!

I think this was one of the nicest meals we had in the park. Everything is served family style, the restaurant is not as noisy as Chef Mickey's was, the food was great!!!!!

Another vote for LTT. Chef Mickey's is our favorite, but with the time concern and other things, I would go with LTT. We ate at both last June and both meals and characters were great. My sons loved it when they announced "Now being seated, the Wise party from the great state of West Virginia!"
