In the park or DTD. A place where they can be teens. I could be wrong, but I just don't see them getting all that excited about the characters at Disney. Thanks :)

Epcot: If they are boys, I would suggest Marakesh in Morroco. They have belly dancers. Girls like it too of course. The food is great and not too expensive. I enjoyed it even when I was 13.

AK: Flametree barbeque is great. It is counterservice, but very good.

MGM: 50's Prime Time Cafe is very fun. If they are willing to play along, it is great. If they have a general attitude, this may be one place you want to skip. We have always enjoyed it, but then we are the kind of people who can take a joke and laugh it off. If what you are looking for is a restaurant that like everyother restaurant, this is not the place to go. If you want a new dining experience, this is wonderful. It serves homecooked food just like mom used to make.

Sci Fi is aways a fave in MGM, but it is quiet in there so everyone can hear the dialogue (oh, doctor, can he be saved? or will he be a monster forever??):laugh

Planed Hollywood is a good bet, it is loud and there are cool things to look at.

By the way, Welcome to DC DawnJ. This is the best place to be to get answers to your questions. We are pretty much Disney Veterans here so feel free to ask, we will most likely have an answer or we can tell you where to look to find it.

It isn't a restaurant, though they do sell food inside..but make sure to check out DisneyQuest. How about the ESPN club? Both those should appeal to teens...teen boys anyways. Are yours male or female?

ESPN Club & Rainforest Cafe were the first two to pop into my mind with the question.

Welcome to DC Dawn. These suggestions are great, I think teens would enjoy any of them. If they like sports ESPN Club is fun and the food is really pretty good. Planet Hollywood is fun for kids to. If they like to play along with the servers, Wispering Canyon Cafe at Wilderness Lodge or 50's Prime Time at MGM are both a lot of fun.

My kids have grown up going to WDW. They are now 18 & 20 years old. I typically take 2 of their friends with us on our trips. All of them enjoy most of the restaurants at WDW.

Last summer, my 18 year old took 4 friends as a graduation trip. They went off on their own and chose to eat at:
San Angel Inn in Epcot
Germany's Oktoberfest restaurant
Beaches n Cream
ESPN
Gulliver's Grill (character meal & seafood buffet)
Donald's Breakfastsauras (character breakfast)

They wanted to eat at Teppenyaki in Epcot and never fit it into their schedule.

I would imagine places of interest to your teens would be:
ESPN
Rainforest Cafe
Planet Hollywood
Hard Rock Cafe (at Universal)
Beaches n Cream

I wouldn't not do the character meals because you think they won't like them. Some of the character meals are very good eating. Go ahead and schedule one. The characters know how to get teens to interact with them. And snap a few pictures too. They just might end up being your favorites!

maybe its because our Granddaughters have also grown up at WDW, but they still love the character meals. One will be 15 in May and the other is 11. Boys ..well I guess older boys wouldnt be so interested ..specially if it was a first time.
I think jmouse is right about all of the choices specially ESPN and
Rainforest Cafe.
I agree too with jmouse about selling the character meals short ..heck me and DH would do a character meal sans short humans every time :)

We took the kids to the 50's Prime Time Cafe, the trick was not to tell them what the deal with the resturant was in advance. When the waiter sat down and told them to take their elbows off the table I had to laugh at their expressions. One of the servers walked by and told my son that "Mom" didn't allow sloughing (sp)at the table. My son just sort of looked at him and he said "don't make me get a 2 by 4 and the duct tape out , Sparky". After that he was Sparky for the rest of the trip. The experence was fun the food was pretty good and the price wasn't too bad for a sit down dinner.

My DS (15 at the time) enjoyed Rainforest Cafe, Planet Hollywood, 50's Primetime, the Cuban place in DTD, San Angel Inn. He wanted to go to the Hard Rock but we didn't make it over there. He did enjoy the Character meals to a point. Kind of at that age, you know. He did like the Chef Mickey's breakfast.
