*Premium* meal vouchers??

While I was surfing eBay - I came across auctions for "Premium" meal vouchers. With these vouchers, you could have a complete lunch at some higher end restaurants in WDW. These premium vouchers looked like a better deal than the regular quick dining vouchers.

I know these are available to people buying packages through Disney .. but are they available for purchase for those of us NOT needing a whole package deal?

Hi! Welcome to DC....I have a lot of experience with these *Premium* Vouchers, also known as VACATION KINGDOM LUNCH VOUCHERS!

I highly recommend using them. They are good for all of the fine dining restaurants in Epcot and many restaurants at some resorts! If you go to the last seating of lunch, you could consider it your nice dinner that day (some restaurants serve lunch as late as 4:20pm, and let's face it, by the time you eat, THAT'S DINNER!)

Just an example of how the savings work:

We paid $30 per voucher through Connections 123.com (actually DEALPASS...the program is called SIMPLE ESCAPES)
Our meal for 3 Adults at Alfredo di Roma's in Italy at Epcot (one infant, who ate off of our plates!) including tax and tip came out to $185...and we paid $90! Plus, we had food left over!!!

This is just an example...check out ebay, they do list a few other examples that give you a lot for your money (the Animal Kingdom Rainforest Cafe seems like a good deal).

You don't have to buy through ebay...you can buy them through numerous sources:
  • CONNECTIONS123.COM - the first 30 days to join are $1 and then you get billed about $90 for a years membership upfront (connections is not available in all areas...if that's the case, you can try DEALPASS)
  • DEALPASS.COM - same deal as Connections, however, it is a lot more expensive, for some reason! It is $139 for the year!
  • HOTWIRE.COM - there is a link on their site that says something about TRAVEL REWARDS...you get billed by month, which is great!
  • LILLIAN VERNON - you have to call them directly, though. This is not something they advertise in their mailers!

GOOD LUCK and if you have any questions, let me know. I LOVE these vouchers...definitely a great deal, if you use it as your dinner!

:)

Thanks SO much ilvuwdw - your post was extremely helpful. I am really leery of buying things like this through eBay - but I will for sure and certain check out the other links.

If I have not said it yet - all the people here at DisneyCentral have been wonderful. I'm so glad I found this site!:D :D :D

Buying through Ebay is safe. I have bought many things one being a timeshare from a DVC member and staying at the Caribbean Resort just last week. It was a great buy. Ebay has lots of meal vouchures for sale and well worth the buy.

I too have purchased many things from ebay and never had a problem. However, there are those instances where you get ripped off.

I too have also purchased a WDW stay at Old Key West from a DVC member too! I got a REALLY great deal...although I absolutely HATED the resort! :cry: I'm curious, how did you get Caribbean Beach Resort? That is not a DVC property.....

MissLisa5730, are you SO welcome! I am glad I was able to help you! If you can find the premium vouchers for $30 on ebay, I would buy them...that is what they go for on the other websites, and you have to pay a membership fee! (unless you join one of those other websites I mentioned earlier and cancel after the month is up!)

If you have any more questions, I am here to help! Good luck planning!:)

HUM... The Caribbean Beach Resort is a DVC property. And I was able to buy my stay from a DVC member on Ebay. Loved the resort. I don't know of any DVC resorts I would not be happy staying at. This last visit we visited many of the resorts to see what they looked like and all were of high standards.

HUM...The Caribbean Beach Resort is NOT a DVC property...you CANNOT buy Timeshare Interest in the Caribbean Beach Resort. Currently, the only resorts that are DVC are:
* BEACHCLUB VILLAS
* BOARDWALK VILLAS
* HILTON HEAD (not on WDW property)
* OLD KEY WEST
* SARATOGA SPRINGS
* VERO BEACH (not on WDW property)
* WILDERNESS LODGE VILLAS

The Caribbean Beach Resort is a DISNEY resort, but it is NOT a Disney Vacation Club property...they do NOT sell timeshare interest in that resort.

The Caribbean Beach is not a DVC resort, but any DVC member can use their points to stay there. So yes, they can sell their points on Ebay to non-DVC members to also stay there.

Now, my question is...do these meal vouchers have expiration dates? I would like to look into these now for our trip in the fall. Also, I heard two other sources that the prices for the vouchers were $11 and $17. Are there different types of vouchers for different amounts?

Back in 97, we bought a meal package added to our vacation package that you paid X amount per day for meals and got more for your money using the card. Why don't they just have a meal card for anybody to purchase like that. Being a DVC member we are entitled to some discounts, but not enough and I'd prefer not having to worry about the cost of my meals on my trip but rather pay for them before and take the pressure off.

Back when they started selling interest at the Beach Club Villas, one of the "bonuses" you could get with your purchase were vacation vouchers, good at a stay at many of the Disney hotel resorts. Maybe someone could not use their vouchers for a stay (they had to be used by a certain date) and sold theirs instead.

Yes there are 3 different kinds of vouchers.

The Premium vouchers run like $31 and are for lunch at the nicer restaurants like the EPCOT countries.

The ones just over $11 are the Q&C Vouchers for the quick meal the places and include an entree and side (or combo meal) plus a drink and dessert. This is for Beaches and Cream and counter service places.

The ones just over $18 are for the character breakfasts.

No you cannot get Chef Mickey dinner vouchers. The only vouchers that work for dinner are the Q&C.

You can use the breakfast vouchers at the breakfast there though.

We made a PS for Chef Mickey's on Mother's Day. They are having a special Mother's Day brunch. Because it is a holiday and a "special" brunch, can you still use a breakfast voucher?

I am not sure about that...I think you might have to use the PREMIUM Lunch vouchers, not the breakfast ones. Why don't you try calling to find out?
