Illuminations view with dinner
Where's the best place to watch the Illuminations show while enjoying a dinner by the water? I've heard Rose and Crown is great for this - what do you all think?? And ...
We will be there the second week of June - what time should we make reservations to eat? |

The Rose and Crown has outside seating that you can view the show from. I imagine in June these may go quickly, so you may want to get a 7:30 PS to ensure yourself a table outside to view Illuminations at 9pm. I haven't tried this place so I have no opinion on the food, but I am certain someone will come along with first hand opinions on this restaurant.

I just made a 7:30 PS for Rose and Crown too! They will not let you book a patio table when you call, but when you check in for dinner you can request one. Even if you can't get a patio table, I have heard that they let people go outside to watch when Illuminations begins.

Rose & Crown is a popular one for watching the show. I have heard lots of great things about it.
You can also have dinner at the counter service place in Mexico, but those seats are first-come-first-serve. So on a night when you do not have a PS, you do have another dinner option.

I was just reading about the Illuminations cruises. 5 small boats that take small parties out onto the lagoon for a little ride, then they moor under a bridge for unonbstructed views of the show.
They sound great - I'm afraid its toio late for me to book one now - our last day at WDW is 6/13 But for anyone else interested - has anyone here done one of these? and how do you go about reserving a boat for your party? |

We've made PS at the Rose & Crown twice now, its great. When you make the PS ask for 7:30 or 7:45pm. I go up early and check in and requested an outside table. I usually make my PS's as soon as I can before a trip. I don't know if it has any affect or not on the seating but we've been seated outside both times. I also tell them I made the PS a long time ago, for good measure. We've always been able to have an unobstructed view, the foods pretty good too. Try the fish and chips, my son likes the bangers and mask (sausage and mashed potatos w/ onion gravy). If you can't sit outside they allow diners inside to go out onto the porch to view the show.

Tomorrow is the 90 day mark for June 13, but you may just get lucky with your other dates. Sometimes people book them for 1 day just in case they cannot get another date. Give them a call and just ask if there are any available for your dates. You might get lucky and snag a reservation for one. Remember to have your credit card handy to make the reservation. They don't bill until the day of your cruise, but they hold your number to make sure you show or remember to cancel.
