Ps?
This will be our first trip to DW and we are clueless about food, and everything else for that matter. This site has been a savior. We are staying at the Poly for 6 nites w/ 2 kids. We have studied lots of threads about everything except food. What exactly is a PS and how does it work? Do you still have to wait in line for an hour or more?:dazed

Welcome to DisneyCentral. A PS is Disney's word for a reservation. They can be made for all sit down restaurants, character meals and dinner shows by calling 407-WDW-DINE. There are a couple of restaurants that are not Disney owned, and you will not be able to make a PS through this phone number, but the CM will let you know where and when to call for those restaurants. They would all be in Downtown Disney, such as Fulton's.
With a PS, I have never waited more than about 5 minutes. You are given the next available table, ahead of any walk ups. Only once did we have to wait, and that was at Le Cellier, due to a large party that had most of the restaurant, and they were very slow. One starting point would be to look at the menus of each restaurant: WDW Menus You can also check out this site for more information on what a PS is, and when you can make them for certain restaurants. PS's are wonderful! They are free and there is no response if you do not show up. So be sure to make one for atelast every dinner. My personal favorite resturaunt is Chef Mickey's. It is at the Contemporary, and is a character buffet.

Welcome to Dinsey Central. You have picked the perfect place to get some WDW help. PS's for sit-down's are a God send. You will not be forced to wait in long lines for a table, but will get the first available table at your PS time like Mickey said. I read that you have chikldren. Some excellent character meals are Crystal Palace, Checf Mickeys and Donald's Breakfastsaurus. A great non-character meal is O'hanna's in the Polly. Excellent meal! The kids and you will love it. Ask all your questions here. We al love to help!

PS stands for Priority Seating. Which means they seat you in order. So if you have a 7 PS and there are no tables available at 7, you would be seated before the person with a 7:15 PS. Hope you understand what I am trying to say. So if the table becomes available at 7:30 the 7 PS will be seated before the 7:15 PS. Also if you make a PS for 8 or more people they will want a credit card to hold the PS. And if you don't cancle 48 hours before your PS and don't show up, you will be charged a 10 dollar per person fee! I think this is how it works, anyone know otherwise? :D :) Joe

Also, Ps's can be made at any time, but can be filled up very quickly for popular resturaunts. They can be made at an Onsite Disney Resort, any Guest Relations, any resturaunt. I have been at Epcot with some friends and they didn't like "being locked in" so they decided not to book Ps's, and we spent an hour trying to find somewhere to eat. Everything was booked, even in the Middle of February. My recomendation would be to go ahead and make them now.
