Disney Dining Experience Program

Hi,
Can someone fill me in on the Disney Dining Experience(DDE). I hear it is a special program for Florida residents only, whereby you can get some sort of dining discount. Is it to all of the Disney restaurants both parks and resorts. A little more clarification or web direction would be appreciated.

And I know this may sound strange, but who exactly is considered a Florida Resident?? A friend has a condo in St. Petes that he spends, lets say less than 1/2 time at. He was telling me about a Florida ID he is getting??? He wanted to know if that would hold water when considering a DDE card and other Disney offered Florida resident plans.

I love this card I have saved so much money using it here is the benefits of it from deb willis's site allears net to be a florida resident you have to show proof of residency ex drivers licence

Exclusively for Floridians , the Disney Dining Experience
- 20% discount on all food and beverages at participating Resort hotel and Theme Park restaurants and lounges, for up to six persons.
- a newsletter exclusively for DDE members

- half price admission to Pleasure Island for the member and a guest (hard-ticket events excluded)

- Park for Free - if a member plans to enjoy shows or attractions in a Park, parking must be paid. Park admission is also required when dining in a park. If driving thru the Disney toll plaza after 5:00pm, the DDE Membership card will allow the member to pass through at no charge. Prior to 5pm, parking reimbursement is available when dining at a Park restaurant by presenting your dining and parking receipt at Guest Relations. When dining at a Resort restaurant, present parking receipt and the restaurant will reimburse you. Valet parking is excluded.

- members only invitations to special food and wine events, food and wine pairings, winemakers dinners, celebrity chef dinners and much more.

- Free admission to Atlantic Dance Hall

- While dinning at Epcot there is now a preferred parking area marked by a green line that can be accessed by showing your Disney Dining Experience card at the toll plaza. (Mark Bonczyk, 6/01)

For Priority Seating call 407-WDW-DINE (407-939-3463).

IMPORTANT NOTES:

Beginning April 30, 2003 --

The price is $75!

New memberships for Annual Passholders (regular and Premium),
Seasonal Passholders, and Walt Disney World Cast Members (CM) $70.

Renewal rate for ALL active members $60.

Card takes 2 - 3 weeks to arrive at your home and is good for one year from when it is issued.

The DDE card MUST be presented with a valid Florida Driver's License or ID.

Each dining transaction is limited to six persons unless prior arrangments have been made and approved by the management.

They also have recently changed the cancellation time for a full refund
on all prepaid DDE events from 48 hours to 72 hours. You have to do this
live to a DDE CM via phone (407-939-7726) during business hours.

Thanks for the extensive note. Everyone on this board is great.

>>The DDE card MUST be presented with a valid Florida Driver's License or ID.<<

I did notice the above statement in the description you included, so maybe my friend may be able to benefit if he can get an ID of some sort??? Who knows.

Also, where do you get the countdown clock to your next trip. That's a hoot. I'd love to get one of those<g>

Thanks again.

All you need is a Florida address and about $5 to get a Florida ID. I would think if your friend has a condo in Florida, he qualifies.
