Dining suggestions at DTD please

I am trying to plan dinner at DtD for our last night of vacation and I was considering the rainforest cafe. I was wondering if it was really noisy with the thunderstorms I've read about. I don't know if my 78 yr old mother would like that very well:nooo: Are there any other locations at DtD that you would suggest for a group of 9?

If your mother has a hard time following a conversation in a large group of people, then this is not the restaurant for her.

The background noises (animal sounds, thunderstorms, etc.) can be quite overwhelming. My father-in-law had a very hard time hearing us in the restaurant and felt that with all the noise he couldn't follow the conversation.

What about Fulton's Crab House or Bongo's? I have never tried either place, but maybe someone on the boards can give you more info.

I am thinking that going to the Rainforest Cafe would be a great place our first night there. We arrive mid afternoon so we aren't planning on going to any of the parks.....

please don't think i am foolish for asking, but there is no admission for DTD is there? And also, should I call and get a ressie for that night even though we aren't sure when we would want to head over there if at all? I mean, does not having a ressie mean we won't get in or will we have to wait forever? Not like that would matter, since we would just walk around for a bit....

I am not sure about reservations, I just walked up and we were seated within 15 minutes.

As for admission, no there is no admission needed for DTD. The only area that you would need a ticket for is Pleasure Island. The Marketplace and Disney West Side is open to the public at no charge (although they still manage to get my money in the restaurants and stores).

The Rainforest Cafe is a really fun place to eat at and the food is good. It is just loud.

I'd suggest Portobelloe Yacht Club. They have several dining areas so I'm sure they could accomodate a large party.

Fulton's Crab House is really yummy, and one of their signature dishes is a crab sampler platter, with not only Alaskan King Crab and Snow Crab legs, but also a bunch of kinds of crabs native to Florida waters... they haven't been frozen yet, and they are fun to try!

Fulton's is my favorite restaurant in DTD. But don't eat dessert there...head over to Ghiradelli's after a little walk around.
