character breakfast
I was wondering when you veteran's usually go to Character Breakfasts. I have a ps for 7:00 at Chef Mickey's on the day we leave. Does anyone else have any better recommendations? This is our first trip and I have tried to plan as much as I could without stapping ourselves to ressies. My dd and ds are so excited we are on the countdown. 11 days from today and 7 nights at the Wilderness Lodge. Any help would be grately appreciated.

After a 13 year hiatus on the CBs, we went to Chef Mickey's after so many DCer's recommended it. It was simply FANTASTIC! We also had a 7am PS, which was good on the 1st day of the trip - sets the tone.
Chef Mickey's is one of those CBs that can be what you make of it. Our group of 7 - six adults, 1 child - really got into it. Our whole table called out Chip and Dale as they entered the room, and we received the white glove treatment from the character CMs. We posed for all sorts of funny photos, and let the CMs know that we were there to have fun. As a result, we were constantly surrounded, to the joy of my dd, by CMs. Other tables began to figure this out - and the whole place went up tempo as the meal went on (and that's saying a lot for Chef Mickey's). Our wait staff even told us that they were having a lot of fun, and one whispered to me that the character CMs were having a blast because of us.

My DD are veterns and lovers of the character meals. We have tried many with few left to try out. Here are our favorites and why:
Chef Mickey's - loud, fun and decent food. They have a character parade and you spin napkins. The characters are EXCELLENT! Crystal Palace - At the magic Kingdom with Pooh friends. I have had this for every meal (B,L and D) and think the breakfast is best, but also love both the lunch and dinner. I have yet to have a poor experience at this restaurant. Breakfastsaurus - in the Animal Kingdom with Mickey, Donald, Goofy and Chip and Dale. Great breakfast food and excellent service. The wait staff are hysterical and fun. Cinderella's Royal Table - in the Magic Kingdom with Cinderella and random princesses, Fairy Godmother, and sometimes Peter Pan. This is a great breakfast in an elegant setting with a great view of the magic kingdom. It's VERY hard to get during peak times so call on the 90 day mark as soon as the phones open. Hope some of this helps. I hear that Liberty Tree Tavern in the Magic Kingdom is a great dinner with Mickey and gang, but haven't tried that one yet. Another good one is 1900 Park Fare at the Grand Floridian for breakfast or dinner. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Happy Planning.:)

Garden Grove Cafe
I have a question on this too.
Has anyone gone to the Saturday CB at the Garden Grove at the Swan? The buffet seems to be priced the same as any of the others, but I know the environment is a tad more upscale. My DS and DD will be 12 and 8 when we go and they like upscale restaurants believe it or not. I guess only Goofy and Pluto go to this one, which is ok. My DD's autograph book is filled up with just about everyone, so we don't need to see a crowd of characters. Anyone been there?

Character brakfast
My favorite is Chef Mickey's but The Crystal Palace is wonderful ,too. We usually pack our own granola bars, etc. to eat for breakfast in the room so what I do is book the last possible breakfast seating, which is usually 11:00. Then we eat like piggies and that is really our lunch.

We went to breakfast at the Cape May Cafe and Chef Mickey's
Chef Mickey's is great, I liked it much better than the Cape May Cafe - The characters go around and spend time at each table and you can take pictures. They also do the picture thing while you're waiting to get seated - And they'll do a retake if you don't like it. ![]() |

Chef Mickey's is kinda infectious in its fun. You normally wouldn't catch me at any place without a table cloth, cloth napkin, and salad fork -- to the woe of my DBF! ;) , but I love Chef Mickeys. It's like suddenly there IS Mickey Mouse, and you just lose all sense of decorum, lol!!! :) I've also done breakfsat at the Poly character breakfast. That's quieter, especailly if you are sitting by the windows / off-center. Also, decor's pretty interesting since it's themed (bamboo chairs and things like that).

We always do the character breakfast on our last day before we start back on the road home. This gives us something to look forward to up until we pull off the property.

Of the two Cb's I've been too, I will definately have to recommend them.
1900 Park Fare- Mary Poppins, Bert, Pooh, Tigger, Alice they were all great. Plus with me and a bunch of other cm's they were great to us. Sometimes I think we got more attention being Cm's! Interacttion was great and the buffet was too, they had everything. Donalds Breakfastosaurus- this one is great for seein mickey and friends in Safari gear! Plus if you have PS for before DAK opens then you don't have to wait for the "awakening" to go in. Food was better in my opinion than 1900. Then again as I always say it, they have breakfast pizza. I swear this is the 4th post about cb's where I have said Breakfast pizza! All in all, CD is a great experience, whether it's for B or D, its a great way to start the day since you wake up with mickey and pals. So any place you go, you will most likely have fun!

We did Chef Mickey's when DS was 3 1/2. It was very fun, but I think sometimes a laid back breakfast with characters would be nice too. :)
