I am not sure whether I should post this or not, it is contradictory towards almost everything said, and I do not want to worry you about your choice. We too booked it for a Fantasmic Package. The place was packed, and this caused for a very noisy noisy place. The food it delicious, and service was good. There were literally 5 crying babies and the place was so crouded. The service was good though. Hope I didn't scare you. I hope that everything is wonderful!

Re: Hollywood & Vine

I don't mean to scare you, but I have to agree with disneyluva. When we went for our Fantasmic Package last December (early Dec., not during the holiday weeks), we waited over 45 minutes to be seated (and this was with PS's, mind you), and we weren't the only ones. I felt really sorry for the CM working the hostess station, because she was constantly being complained to by angry people who had all been waiting as long as we had to be seated. Then, once we actually got in there, it was absolutely packed, incredibly noisy, and seemed to be constantly out of the "safe" food choices, such as turkey and potatoes (I'm a pretty picky eater). Plus, worst of all, they were not serving their famed red velvet cake that night, and that was the whole reason I'd chosen this restaurant! So I'm not sure that I'd return, because I didn't really care for the stuff I ended up eating. Having said that, though, my 2 year old was in heaven because they had her beloved mac & cheese, and my husband isn't picky and will eat anything, so they liked it ok. I hope you enjoy it more than I did!

Re: Hollywood & Vine

H&V is great! we always choose it for our fantasmic package choice. It is the most reasonably priced of the choices, it has a wide variety of food choices and it is all you can eat, buffet style. They have a special little section with kid friendly choices like chicken nuggets, macaroni and cheese and pizza and a huge buffet of entrees and salad bar items for everyone. If you leave hungry, shame on you! the desserts are great, my kids especially like the ice cream with all the candy toppings. (I think I may be gaining weight just describing this!) LOL .ENJOY!

I guess there's one in very group -- and this time it's me. We ate at H&V as part of the Fanstasmic dinner pkg. last Aug. and found it to be so-so. The food wasn't bad, but not something we'll rave about for years to come. Let's put it this way - if you like to eat at Old Country Buffet or like the buffet at Ponderosa, this is the place for you. If you don't normally eat at buffets, you'll not find this one to be any different from others you've seen. (Having said that, I do have to give the desserts a thumbs-up. The Red Velvet ckae is delicious.)

Re: Hollywood & Vine

We have booked our Fantasmic dinner in June there, as well. I'm hoping our experience matches the more positive reviews here!

Re: Hollywood & Vine

Someone mentioned special Red Velvet Cake, when I was at H and V they definetly did not have Red Velvet Cake!! It is one of my favorites. I would have to rate the desert bar as cheesey too. It only had a few small things, and of course soft serve ice cream with toppings. While the deserts were pathetic by Disney standards, but they were still good.

Re: Hollywood & Vine

Like I have said in other threads about H&V,
Skip it, unless you like a more casino style buffett. H&V pales to Chef Mickeys, and even Cape May Cafe & Biergarten, which are buffetts also.

Re: Hollywood & Vine

It is, however, the least expensive option for the fantasmic dinner package. We get it for that. No, it isn't the best, but we didn't feel it was horrible either. Some of the things were quite tasty! Different strokes for different folks!!

That would be the only reason I booked it again. I do want to try some of the other resturaunts.

Re: Hollywood & Vine

We have eaten at all the sit downs at MGM. I really liked Brown derby best but didn't really want to take the kids. Mama Melrose was fair. I wish Sci fi and 50's were options for the Fantasmic package.

Re: Hollywood & Vine

I have heard wonders about both 50's and Sci Fi, and of course a few negatives. I still would like to try them all.
