AKL Dinner Question

Howdy!
We had planned to have dinner at AKL - Boma on our first night in Orlando in October. We were then going to try to plan dessert/drinks at the California Grille at the top of the Contemp. after. However, after reading the menu, I'm not sure that my best friend, a "nothing with a face" vegetarian will be able to find much to eat at Boma. Are there any vegetarians out there who have attempted this buffet? Any opinions?
Thanks in advance!
Kim

There is loads to eat for a vegetarian at Boma's. It's tough to quote menu items, but there always seemed to be a soup, a vegetable dish, a caserole of some type, and my favorite, couscous. If you call ahead, they will also hand prepare items (if your a strict vegan) My MIL gets the most incredible meals there.

Thanks for the info., MM! We almost cut AKL out of the plan completely until I read this! Having never been inside, I was so bummed that I was going to miss it again! But it looks like this part of the trip is saved!
Hooray!!

Aggie96, you mentioned that you were planning to follow dinner at Boma with dessert/drinks at CA Grill. You may want to rethink those plans unless you visit the CG hours after your meal at Boma. There are so many excellent dishes-including the desserts!-at Boma that you will be "stuffed" even if you try just a little of each dish.

I agree with MickeyMac, by the way, regarding your vegetarian friend. There are always lots of veggie dishes available at the Boma Buffet.

Enjoy!

Thanks, Mac.
I'm getting hungry!
Never been to Boma's, even though we stayed at AKL. Gotta try it in May.

;)

LOL!! MM, you are so funny!

I have to admit that we are only going to do CG for the view, so we will force ourselves to eat/drink something during that time just for that reason!! But that is one reason we were considering cutting out Boma.
And - for the WONDERFUL desserts at CG, we will just have to suffer through!!! lol

Geeman -
Can't wait to hear about your trip! I will expect a full report on Boma.

There will be no problem finding something to eat for a vegetarian at Boma! And like someone else said, clal ahead and they'll help you out! And you'll love the view from CG. I go there every trip.
