Picky Eating Suggestions?

Hey yall, thought I'd ask the experts out there for some opinions! Even though I'm a Cm, I have not tried a lot of the restaurants in WDW. Since I am going to Wdw in may and stayin on prop, I want to just park my car and bus it. So me and my Gf have been looking over menus and all to find something good. So far we've only come up with 3 restaurants for our 5 night stay.

Rainforrest Cafe-one of our fave restaurants! :laugh
Ohana's-only cause she read another thread and saw good reviews :wow:
Boma- thats for me cause I want to try it. If it wasn't for me, she wouldn't even think about going! :o

Breakfastosaurus- some say that isn't the best CB but ya know breakfast pizza!!! How many threads have I said that on now??
Plus I had a great time with my fam there!

In picking these restaurants she is a really picky eater, I did not realize how picky! I read reviews about 50's primetime cafe and how it was good, so we looked at the menu. Lets just say she saw it and was like, "the only thing that I would even think of getting would be the meatloaf".
I need some desperate help! I do not want to end up using one of my nights at planet hollywood or the house of blues, since they just look like glorified applebees/TGIFridays to me.
We are staying at PO-FQ and was wondering if Boatwrights was any good. Since they serve cajun style food, which is where we are from, it appealed to her more.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated, since we've been planning and planning. We've just planned soo much we forgot what we've been planning! :dazed
Just some tips for yall, she's a steak n potatoes girl. Yes I have mentioned whispering canyon at WL and Le Cellier in canada, but even those were still met with a :hmmm
Me I'm adventurous and have eaten lots of stuff which is why I want to try Marrakesh in Morocco, but then again I was met with a
At least I got Ghirardelli's Soda shop and Beaches and cream happily accepted on the list of places to eat! ;)

I know this may sound a little too plain, and maybe child-like but what about Chef Mickey's?? Chef Mickey's has a very plain menu so no problems. That is my favoirte, along with the Japanese Steak House inside Epcot. It has some things such as Chicken and Steak but may be too bold for your friend.

I second Chef Mickeys. Good food, big selection, and a lot of fun.

We also like Rose and Crown in EPCOT. My wife is a real picky eater, but she loves to eat there. She likes the fish and chips, and she sometimes gets the roasted chicken with mashed potatoes. nice place to eat late in evening, and you may luck into a table on the patio that you can watch Illuminations from your table.

For MGM, you may try Hollywood and Vine. We ate there last summer and the food was good. They also had a big selection.

How about Trails end? Maybe buffets are more the way for you to go.

OOps, I forgot to mention another thing, she doesn't do Buffet!!!
Lol she cant eat as much as I can and I always put her to shame.
Since she cant eat $15 worth of buffet food she doen't feel it's worth it. So it makes it harder, thats why I was thinking of whispering canyon, I can get an all you care to eat skillet and she can get whatever, but thats still met with a maybe...:hmmm
Ok funny story, she's picky and hardly eats what my mom cooks (my mother is from Thailand) but she enjoyed eating at Yakitori House in Japan! Go figure. Being from the south and from semi-cajun country the tastes are kinda mixed. Looking at the Rose and Crown, that looks like something I might not enjoy, only cause I've never seem to find english food that fit my taste, such as Blood Pudding(??!?!) or Haggis (sp). I know those arent on the menu, but still english food never seemed as flavorful.
I appreciate the help and suggestions, but my gf is just sometimes soo picky, love her to death...but well you know.
Any suggestions just throw our way, and well check out the menus. The lucky winner that reccommends a restaurant and we go to it will recieve.....my grattitude!

No buffets? Hmm hard one. Why not LE Cellier is a steak and potatoes place, so I cna't understand her hesitation on that one. Matter of fact, it is now one of my al time favs at WDW...best steak I have EVER had on property. Whispering Canyon also has "regular" items along with the skillet or all you care to eat thingy. I had steak there too. Boma is a buffet. If she agreed to that one, maybe you can persuade her into Chef Mickeys. Me and my DD are pretty picky with trying new foods too, but always find at least a few thngs we like on buffets. Momma's at MGM was very good if she likes Italian.

Teppanyaki, maybe??? Dinner and a "show".

I am also not a buffet person, but I try to keep in mind that $15-$20 is not a real steep price since you are getting choices of salads, soups, desserts and a main course. If something isn't to her liking, she can go grab something else. ;)

O'hanas is a great choice. We loved it there!!

As much as I love a good Character dining experience, at the end of the day I'm too tired to be bugged by our furry friends.
Funny side note, when me and Ashley (my Gf) went to AK last year she got scared by pooh. This was her first trip to wdw and she had never experienced the characters before, so she didn't know they were so playful. Anyways long story short, she felt pooh was over friendly, since he wouldn't let her go, and didn't want to take pics with any other character that day, needless to say we still got a pic with both of us and tigger! ;)
I love a buffet and I want to try boma, I'm just lucky that she loves me enough to try it with me!!!
As for Le Cellier, I've tried it, but I guess I didn't like the Prime Rib too much, I don't know. It wasn't that great to me which is I guess why I don't want to go back.
As for Teppanyaki, if my mom weren't Asian and me eating stir fry more often than not it'd be different. I always love trying new foods and it's just when people say lets eat Chinese/Japanese/Thai, I sit there and go great now I get to pay for what my mom cooks me for free! :hmmm
God you know I sound like such a picky eater too, but I guess with Boma's and Ohana's on my list I cant be that picky!
I guess I'm just kinda running out of ideas and nothing is sounding too good anymore. I know we have a CB on the list and I generally don't like doing more than one Character meal, since I will see mickey and the gang in the parks. I love a buffet so if yall do find some non Character ones that may sound good lay em on me, I may be able to persuade her!

Have you thought about the Brown Derby in MGM? I haven't been there but it may be up your GFs alley.

We are doing Hollywood & Vine because there are no characters.

We are going to eat at Liberty Tree so my DGD can see Minnie.

I'd suggest Artist Point (then again, I always do). They always have a fantastic tenderloin, and I love the buffalo. I thought my steak at Yachtsman's Steakhouse was great.

Cinderella's for dinner. Very romantic and plenty of meat & potatoes. Plus no characters.

Check out the menus for the Concourse Steakhouse (Contemp.), Grand Floridan Cafe (GF), and Yacht Club Galley (YC). They all serve "normal" food with no buffets and no characters. :) Also, my always-recommended Plaza @ MK has sandwiches and ice cream.

Well, the restaurants I would have suggested have already been mentioned (Whispering Canyon or Chef Mickey's), but if you are ever looking for something fast food in the middle of the day & happen to be at Epcot...definitely go to the Land. I have seen some of the pickiest eaters in the universe find something to eat there. Lots of variety, lots of simple foods! :)
