quick question for Cm's

In reading the worst restaurant thread I had a couple q's for cm's.
When dining at a restaurant do we say we are a cm before the check comes out?? I've only dined during cast holiday discounts when we had to present ID and coupon beforehand.
This leads to my next question, when we show ID beforehand, why does the experience diminish for us?? I read on the where not to eat thread about how Cm's get treated worse than normals guests. This is true and I have experienced it. I've had waiters disappear from my table, only to see them every 2 seconds at a regular guests. Also when on stage our ID's arent allowed to be visible. I've gotten yelled at by CM's at Flame Tree BBQ in DAK because I showed them my ID when ordering.
Basically all in all, I was curious as to how we go about getting our Cm discounts, before or after the check is brought. Also why do we get treated like less of a guest by fellow employees??
(Yes I will refer to them as Employees, cause of how they treat us "real" Cm's!):madmad

When you receive the check, present your CM ID and they will rework your check to reflect your dining discount.

I agree with jmouse. Also,if you really aren't treated as well as other guests, you should go right to the manager on duty of whatever restaurant that you are eating at and tell them how you were treated and ask that the automatic tip be taken out of the check.

Non-costume Cast members who are working and onstage (anywhere a guest can see you) must wear their CM ID in plain sight.

I have never seen CMs receive lesser service than a guest and I have dined many, many times with CMs.

If you are not sure the particular restaurant/counter service offers a CM dining discount, all you have to do is ask when your order is being run up. Then you will be asked to show your ID.

DL, onstage is when I'm out on the visible areas of property where guests can see me. When I am out but not working my ID has to remain hidden, so as not to "ruin the magic" also so I can hide my shame! :p lol

Seriously, I always make sure I check who honors cm discounts before I go, so I knew flametree honors it. Anyways in showing my ID the Cm yelled at me for having my ID "exposed" since it's supposed to remain hidden. so I found that odd, I had to to show my ID to get the discount, but she was yelling at me for showing her?? I don't know....:hmmm Maybe she didn't wanna deal with giving a discount??

My other experience was Le Cellier, which I didn't mind the waiter dissapearing too much, since it was a romantic evening and I wanted some privacy. The problem was when I wanted the check, where did the guy go??

Jmouse and mickaholic4077, I thank you for the tips!:)
For some reason I thought Disney did cm discounts a different way, since I'd eat at Rainforrest cafe all the time and it was just like how yall said for any other wdw restaurant.
