I tried Momma's on my last trip. It was great meal and to me, worth every penny. Excellent Italian food. Bring your appetite though. The portions are huge and there are many courses to this Fantasmic! package meal. You won't be sorry for giving it a try.:)

We almost tried Mama Melroses' once. We has a PS, walked in...looked at the menu....then walked back out. We just thought it seemed a bit overpriced for pasta!!
Here is the menu to help you decide. It's all a matter of liking. I would pay way more than most people would for a great platter of fajitas....I just can do it for spagetti and lasagne!! http://www.allearsnet.com/menu/men_mmd.htm By the way, the Fantamic Dinner package is also available at Hollywood and Vine (all you can eat buffet) http://www.allearsnet.com/menu/menu_hvd.htm and The Brown Derby http://www.allearsnet.com/menu/menu_bd.htm Of the 3, Hollywood and Vine is the least expensive and the only all you can eat buffet. They are all very different menus and each a unique dining experience! The value of the Fantasmic dinner package is well worth it in my opinion. No need to line up for Fantasmic 60 or 90 minutes ahead of time!

Sorry Alma and all, but Sara and I loved Momma Melrosa's. The food was excellent and it was not over priced. I agree with you all about Hollywood and Vine, but Momma's is another excellent choice for the Fantasmic! package. Cheaper isn't always better. For a big family or gathering the food at this restaurant is MORE than worth the price. Sara and I couldn't even put a dent in these portions. It was lost on us, but a great meal regardless.

We went there two years ago, (being Italian) I am biased, I never eat Italian when we go out but my dh wanted to go there so I agreed, over priced and the food was awful!;-( Go someplace else. Even the salad was bad!;-( :) |

I knew what you meant. Sorry if my answer was a bit cold. I just reread it...sorry...hard to express yourself sometimes in type. I just meant that I persponally didn't find it over priced and yes of course you can get cheaper, but cheaper isn't alwyas better. I am very cofident your mother could make that WAY better as could my DBF's mother. I still thought for a biggerish family, this meal was well worth the price. For one or two people like me and Sara, it wasn't worth it becasue we couldn't finish it, however the quality was excellent. No hard feeling at all. Sorry if I came off wrong. I didn't mean to. ![]()

Re: mama melrose worth it?
I like Italian food, too, but thought MM was overpriced. Plus, I have 3 rather pickey DD's. We have done H&V twice. The kids loved it because it is buffet and there is something for everyone. The kids especially liked the ice cream with all the available toppings. I thought the "adult" menu items were yummy and of course plentiful. And you can't beat the reserved seating at Fantasmic, but don't wait until the last minute. one time our party had to split up for scattered seating.
