Fantasmic - Dinner Options

OK.

So I'm all paid up and set to go, and NOW I realize that I should book the Fantasmic dinner or else risk standing in line to see it? And I need to pay for it up front? :nooo:

So, here's the thing. I'm waiting for my tax refund before I have a little extra green. :D But how busy will MGM be in the middle of May on a Sunday night? Should I risk holding off on making a PS until after I get there? Or should I really try to do it now? :dazed

We'll probably do Hollywood and Vine. Do PS's get booked up quickly for a buffet? On a Sunday night?

Anyone's experience with this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance. :)

You don't have to pay up front, from what I gather. You leave a credit card to guarantee the PS and your card is charged if you don't show up.

Man! This IS popular! On a Sunday night no less!

Nothing that night for H&V and the other places are just too steep after all the other places I'll be spending money during the trip.

I guess we'll just have to back before the end of the year.

I'm trying to convince my wife to buck up for either MNSSHP or MVSCP. We've never seen WDW during a holiday season.

You should definitely go to MVMCP! We went last December and it was WONDERFUL! The attention to detail with the Christmas deco was amazing all over the World, but seeing the MK with all the lights was so worth the trip! I couldn't recommend anything more!

Nothing available that day for H&V. The other two are just too pricey for me.

Maybe they'll schedule another show and I can get a later seating. But in the middle of May, I doubt it. :(

I did have to give my credit card to guarantee our PS. I also had to go through group dining, because there will be 18 of us. You also have 48 hour cancellation time, or else they will charge , it's either $5-10 can't remember the exact amount to your credit card if someone does not show up. That amount is per person.
Now, a friend of mine just called to see if we could do the Fantasmic Show also. Since my reservations are made, would they still include us in the Dinner Package???

You DO have to pay up front. Your credit card is charge when you book. I did Hollywood and Vine and it was worth it. You arrive 30 minutes before the start of the show and get a good seat. If you do that in the "general admission" section, you may be stuck in a bad place. I would reccomend it. H&V is only $19.99 for adults, so it's not too bad.

I wasn't charged when I booked. It was just to hole the reservation. And yes this is a reservation not a PS. They will only charge your card if you don't show up. You pay when you eat. I would try to get into the General Admission. The Package seats aren't even that great!

Tom I am famous for not making PS or making same day PS at the park .. so if you really want to try H&V (which we think is great!!) then when you get to MGM that day ..go to the Dinning Booth and ask about a Fantasmic Dinner package for that day. Thats what we did last month and it worked just fine :) also .. I dont know what you think of it ..but sometimes Sci-fi dine-in is part of the Fantasmic Package .. this is one of our favorites at MGM too. and you could check to see if it is during that time or that day :)

Can someone explain to me what Fantasmic is and the dinner choices? I want to be able to tell the people I am going with about it but I don't really know myself.

Fantasmic is a wonderful evening show at MGM. It is a wonderful combination of water, fireworks, laser lights, and characters. It is open to everyone who inside the park. In the summer you need to be in line for a seat 45 minutes before the show, and this is one show that you must see! Disney recently started the package deal where you eat dinner at a choice of 3 resturaunts (Hollywood and Vine, Moma Melrosa's, and one other). You eat dinner at the resturaunt of your choice out of those three and are given a special pass to enter Fantasmic! through a special enterance and you have reserved seats. There are enough seats for everyone with a pass. It is very much worth it to do the package in the summer and other peak times but not wirth it, in my opinion, to do this in the off peak times. Do book it soon because it books very very fast and if you have a special time you want you need to book NOW. They do ask that you give a credit card number that won't be charged unless you do not show up. If you do not show it is a $10 dollar charge per person. Hope this helps! And however you see it Fantasmic! is a must see.
