Re: Rose and Crown good ?
I have had a meal here once. It was okay. I am going with about 10 people but we will probably just stop by for a drink in the pub. They used to have a baked potato stand outside that was the best. I have not seen it in the last couple of years.

Re: Rose and Crown good ?
We jsut ate there this month, and most of the food was only OK. But they have a mushroom appetizer that I would be thrilled to find in a top-notch New York City restaurant! It was delicious! They have terrific beers to drink with your meal, and the fish is pretty good. The best part is that if you make your reservations for around 7:45, you wil be able to go out onto a private viewing area for the fireworks after dinner! Really good viewing spot!

Re: Rose and Crown good ?
We ended up eating dinner there as a last resort because we couldn't get seated at Le Cellier and we ended up loving the Rose and Crown. Definitely try the steak and prawns!! We sat outside on the patio overlooking the lagoon and the view was fantastic!

Re: Rose and Crown good ?
I liked the atmosphere of a pub. The food is good. I have heard the English are not well know for their food, something about a potato famine! Anyway, the view for Illuminations is fab and the CM are very accomodating. I would go back. Where else in the park can you get a black and tan??????

Re: Rose and Crown good ?
My husband and I love the R&C. The food is good, although the menu is limited. If you are looking for some almost traditional English food, they have it! The pub cannot be beat! My hubby and I love to stop by the outdoor counter bar and order a yard of brew! YUUUMMM! Then we sit and people watch, let the kids play hopscotch in the English village, and usually catch the street show. (sigh) Ready to go now...

Re: Rose and Crown good ?
[quote=Tom Carroll Sorry to disappoint you but absolutely nobody drinks yards of ale in English pubs EVER. The only place you are likely to see them is in students' bars where the rugby club louts try to impress the girls by drinking as much as possible, being sick and causing a punch-up. But I suppose the beer tastes the same. (I don't drink so I won't comment on it)] (quote did not format properly)
LOL! Tom, I'm of English decent, have lived in England, and did a summer of law school there. I'm not saying the Rose and Crown hits it dead-on. The yards of brew are just great fun. Traditional or not! ![]()

Re: Rose and Crown good ?
Thanks for all the input. I will be in WDW starting NOV 3 for five days. I'm taking five people so we have to put our heads together in June and make PS's. The problem is everyone has there favirote, so we have to fit those in. I have only one favorite and would like to try something new. So I'm sitting here this morning day dreaming. Tina
