Boatwright's

Howdy DCers!
Anyone have an opinion on Boatwright's? I found the menu on WDWIG and it looked good. We are trying new things on this trip and wanted some idea on whether this was worth a trip to POR or not. We've never even been to this resort, so......
Thanks in advance!

How funny that we are both looking at trying this out! We won't be there until October, so at least we will have your opinion!!

Re: Boatwright's

We haven't been to POR recently, but stayed there twice several years ago. At that time we thought Boatwright's was great. We especially loved breakfast there. I still remember those french toast squares...yum.

Re: Boatwright's

Kim, we stay at POR a lot and we love it(remember when it used to be Dixie Landings?) Anyway, we have eaten at Boatwright's and think it is decent, but average, food. But we thought it was a boring setting, and the food is actually better in the food court next door. If I weren't staying at POR, and I could go to any resort to try new restaurants, I would go to a different resort and try something else. You can get the whole concept of Boatwright's by walking through, so you don't have to waste a meal on ordinary food. Did you try the food at WL or at AKL yet?

Re: Boatwright's

Although we've never stayed at POR, we have eaten at Boatwright's several times for breakfast and liked it very much. Generous portions and good food!

Re: Boatwright's

We stayed at POR for the first time this past August and ate at Boatwrights for breakfast every morning excluding the two mornings we had character breakfasts. Their breakfast is the best! The cinnamon french toast baguettes are to die for! The sweet potato pancakes are so good that I would go to Disney just for them! The food is very much like southern home cooking. While I agree, the ambiance and setting isn't over the top, it is still a great place to eat. Let's put it this way...the next time we're at Disney even though we're not staying at POR we will definately go to Boatwrights!
