Re: Favorite Character Meal
I'll list the ones I have tried, tell you which ones I do every trip, and then the ones I don't care to try again.
Ones I have tried: Chef Mickey's, Crystal Palace, Breakfastsaurus, 1900 Park Fare, Cinderella's Royal Table, Hollywood and Vine (no longer a character meal), and Princess Storybook Breakfast. I go to Crystal Palce almost every trip becasue the Pooh characters are amoung my favorites and the meal is excellent. I have never had a bad meal here. I love Chef Mickey's too for the same reason cept it's not Pooh. The meals here get you right in the Disney mood. Breakfastsaurus is excellent too. We do that one every time we go to AK. They are my favorite ones. CRT and the others were great too, but I don't do those every trip. The only one I didn't care for the The Princess Storybook breakfast, but my experience seems to be an isolated one. I won't be going back regardless. My character meal to do for January is: O'hanna breakfast Crystal Palace Chef Mickey's Breakfastsaurus

Re: Favorite Character Meal
I have only been to 2 cb's but they were both excellent!
1900 park fare was great, with me and my cm buddies, we got soo much attention from the characters, I ofetn wondered if they spent this much time with the reg guests. I mean I hardly got a chance to eat since we always had pooh or bert around us talking it up! Food was great though, with buffets, you know all the portions were big! Breakfastosaurus, this one I keep hearing isn't too good. I will admit I didn't get the attention that I got at 1900 park fare, but I had mickey and the gang at this one! The food was better IMO than at 1900. I guess it was the breakfast pizza. 1900 has an omlette bar, but I don't care for omlettes as much as I care for pizza! Oh ask my mom about the cb, she doesn't remember the characters as much as she remembers the OJ! She loves that orange juice and she's been looking for the same brand ever since! lol ![]()

Re: Favorite Character Meal
Chef Mickey's is a must for us every trip. We have done both breakfast and dinner and the food was great and the characters were even better. We are trying CRT for the first time in July and can't wait for a new experience.

Re: Favorite Character Meal
Yeah, Chef Mickey's is the best. The food is top notch, Mickey and Goofy and the other main characters are there, the view of the Contemporary is awesome, plus that was the scene of my first date with my future wife.
1900 Park Fare is fantastic as well, but I liked it better when it they had villan characters there. I also really love the Garden Grill character dinner. Mickey and Chip and Dale in farmer costumes!!! The food is excellent. ![]() |

Re: Favorite Character Meal
We were at Crystal Palace this morning, and it's always a consistent favorite of ours. We dont' have PS's for W or Th breakfast, so we might just have the concierge make em for us at the Palace.
Our DD (who is here for her 2nd birthday) ran right up to Piglet this a.m., turned around, and sat in his lap for a picture. The Cast Member said, "Um, she looks like she's done this before."

Re: Favorite Character Meal
We haven't tried many, but here are my thoughts...
September 2002 ---Poly. My favorite was breakfast at the Poly. The dining area was very spacious, the food was great, my 2 DD's (almost 3 and 5 yr old at the time) like being in the parade and the characters spent soooo much time at our table that it was fun to try to eat. My DD's got a big laugh when Chip, Dale and Goofy tried to "eat" their breakfast. Also, with the ages of DD's, a family style breakfast was much easier than a buffet style since no one had to leave the table. The Poly is beautiful and has a nice relaxing atmosphere as well. Will definitely return!!!!! October 2003 ---Princess Storybook Breakfast (Epcot). My 2 DD's are hugh princess fans so we decided to give it a try. The food was just okay and nothing to write home about. The restaurant felt very crowded and the Princesses spent only enough time to sign autograph books and take a picture with the girls. The best thing about this breakfast was that the girls were able to get autographs and pictures with some of the princesses that are otherwise hard to find. I doubt that we will utilize this PS in the future. October 2003---Dinner at 1900 Park Fare The food here was buffet style but it was one of the best in tastes and selection. We waited the longest here to be seated and the service was not very fast in regards to drink refills and plate removal. Dinner here takes anywhere from 1 hour - 1 hr 45 minutes....a little long for my 2 DD's. Overall, if your kids want to see Cinderella, Suzy and Perla - your much better going to Mickey Toontown at the MK! The girls were excited to see Prince Charming and thought that he remembered them and waved specifically to them later that evening at the Electrical Parade. Who knows, maybe he did?!!?! It is doubtful that we will go back. May 1994 ---Chef Mickey's Breakfast at the Contemp. The atmosphere is very festive but "busy" and crowded. The food was good and my two nephews seemed to enjoy it. The characters spent a significant amount of time at our table for autographs, pictures and joking around. I found it a little "cramped" and inconvenient to make trips to the breakfast bar though. We will probably utilize a PS here on our next trip since my 2 DD's have never been and it was a fun, pleasant experience. |

Re: Favorite Character Meal
We reallly enjoy Goofy's Kitchen at DL. Had dinner there for the first time last Thursday for my DD's birthday. It was yummy, and we sat next to the door that the characters enter and leave from. We got tons of attention from every character - got to dance, and they brought a cake and sang for Mary.
Character meals everywhere at Disneyland Paris are great with a high character-to-guest ratio (CTGR). Characters are in the restaurant area of the Disneyland Hotel every morning for pictures. Yesterday, we went to the Princess Storybook Breakfast in Norway at Epcot. All of the princesses were very nice about coming by and taking pictures. Mary, who adores Snow White, was bouncing out of her chair when she saw her enter the room. (On another note, Snow White sent Mary a birthday card to our room here at the GF.) Tomorrow is our breakfast at Cinderella's Round Table. I'll make sure to let you know what we think. However, judging by how hard it is to get into, I'm sure it will be fab.

Re: Favorite Character Meal
I did Chef Mickey's Character Breakfast when it was still at DTD many years ago and I remember having a real blast. My understanding is that it is still one of the best ones, a great way to start the day.
I've also done Liberty Tree Tavern twice. That's VERY cool, the food is ok, and there are LOTS of characters. I should post pictures.... LTT is my favorite so far for character interaction, but the food is just ok, although it is pretty good for young kids and the family style makes it a nice "home style" meal. If you do the Liberty Tree Tavern, try to get the latest seating. Depending on what time of year you are there, you could end up being in the park until after closing, which is really neat. In two weeks, we are planning on the 1900 Park Cafe Character, based on a number of recommendations. We'll also be doing Donald's Breakfastasaurus over at AK. Again, a lot of people like that one.

I've only ever done lunch at the Crystal Palace, and it was wonderful! Great food, the Pooh characters came around the the table multiple times, it was me and my Mom and it was nice how they made time for the giddy adults too!
Tigger was so fun and flirty, he tried following me out the door when we left! (Maybe it was because I pulled his tail?) ![]() I would love to do Chef Mickey someday and the CP again in the future. |

Re: Favorite Character Meal
We typically do Chef Mickey's on our first evening at WDW - the kids have a blast, although I must say the food isn't the greatest. I think it's the most fun character meal. We also make it a point to do Donalds Breakfastsaurus each trip & we love it - the characters are really fun & I think it's a really yummy breakfast buffet. This past trip we also did Cinderella's Round Table with my daughter - she was totally into the princesses so that made it special for us.
On a side note, 2 years ago we stayed at the Wyndam Palace & they have a character breakfast on Sunday mornings & it was really great as my kids were pretty much the only ones in there so they had tons of character interaction that morning.

Re: Favorite Character Meal
We went to the Crystal Palace last year!
The dinner buffet they have is GOOD! My son loved the characters and the food! The people that work there were great! I enjoyed my dinner and never felt rushed to leave!

Re: Favorite Character Meal
Has anyone been to the character dinner at the Garden Grill? My family and I are debating that, or 1900 Park Fare, or the Liberty Tree Tavern for our character dinner.
