package delivery question

I've heard or read about two things and I'm tryiing to sort them out.

We will be staying at POFQ in about one week. When we make purchases in the Parks, are we able to have them sent to our resort or do we have to pick them up at a specific destination at the park when we leave?

Thanks for any iinfo regarding this.

Re: package delivery question

Most purchases can be sent directly to your room. It generally takes 1-2 days to get there, so if you plan to use this service, don't do it on the last 2 days of your trip.

Some things like photos may require that you pick them up at your resort's gift shop.

Re: package delivery question

As a resort guest you can have them delivered to your room, up until the day before you check-out (I believe). You can also have them sent to the front of the parks to pick-up on your way to the exit.

Re: package delivery question

ve sent our packages to our room many times. They usually show up around 5 PM the next day. If you want you can have them drop off at the main gates for your pickup as you leave. But make sure that you give them about 4 hrs to get them there. They say 2 hrs but many of the times it took a good 4 hours.

Also be sure to check that nothing is broken and that you have the right items in your package before packing them to go home.

Re: package delivery question

Sometimes instead of delivering to the room, they deliver to your hotel gift shop. You will get a call when the shop gets your package. Very easy and convenient.

Re: package delivery question

When we stayed att CSR on our first visit, we had 2 HUGE bags from the big shop at DD. We were leaving the next night though and worried it wouldn't get to our room before the checkout time.

They put a rush on it and left it at the resort gift shop for us, thankfully. No way we could have carried all that back to our room. Everyone we knew had given us some moeny to get them a shirt or something. Well, we don't do that anymore, now we sneak away and don't tell people till we come back!

Those two huge shopping bags were our carry-on luggage on the plane, LOL! The whole flight crew was like, "Oh we know where YOU'VE been!"

Re: package delivery question

Its my understanding that all packages are now sent to the giftshops at the resorts. Its been that way for us the last 3 years. I remember the first time we were told this was when we stayed at the AKL in 2002. But they do call and let you know that the packages are there and I have noticed that at CBR and at PC the last 2 trips there was a sign saying "Package Pick up" in the gift shop

Re: package delivery question

I had the same experience, Tinkerbell. When we stayed at DAKL, the packages came to our rooms, but the next trip, we had to go to the gift shop and were told they no longer send to the rooms. I wasn't sure if that was something just the Contemp. was doing, or if it was a new Disney policy.

Unfortunately, they FORGOT to call us about our package being at the gift shop ... because they'd misplaced it somehow for a few hours... Very frustrating. :( No call, no call, no call. Asking at the gift shop. Being told they don't have it and to check back in two hours... This dragged on until like 11pm... Sigh. :(

Haven't tried it sense then as that was far too annoying and it's just been easier to carry stuff since. I think our bad experience was just a fluke -- not to scare anyone else off from trying it -- as no one's posted any horror stories here, just about what a good thing it is to use. :)

we had a package lost when we stayed at the poly several years ago ..but it was shipped to us at home, when they found it.
funny thing about last March at the PC, I had already stopped in and picked up a package one day.. and they called later. It confused me and I thought maybe it was something the girls had purchased so went back down and found out it was the one I had already picked up :)
Except for the lost package at Poly that one time ..we have never had any problems with the package delivery services
