Hall of Presidents - Sleeping?
Question:
If you fall asleep during HOP, will they let you stay for a second show to see what you missed? ![]() I'm actually quite serious about this one. The day we're at MK, we start with an 8:10 CB over at the 1900 and we're ending with an 8pm PS at Ohana so that we can see Wishes. It promises to be a long day and I think it would be good for all of us to take a nap. So what better place than the comfy chairs in the air-conditioned HOP auditorium?? OK, I'm not being COMPLETELY serious, but I'm curious if anyone else has done this? ![]()

Re: Hall of Presidents - Sleeping?
Well, I have to admit I have nodded off at the HoP. It is so cool and relaxing. I do enjoy the show. I expect they would let you stay if there is not a big crowd coming in or you would have time to go our and come back around and go in! Kids usually hate it but as a teacher I like it, if I am not too tired and hot.

Re: Hall of Presidents - Sleeping?
I will admit to keeping on my sunglasses and closing my eyes, but I find it too loud to sleep. DH has nodded off, a sharp elbow to his side stopped his snoring.
I agree it is a great place to cool off. DH has also nodded off in the Drew Carey Sounds Dangerous.

I have also nodded off in HOP's,but I have never stayed for the next show if I have, because I have seen the show enough that I don't have to do that.

Re: Hall of Presidents - Sleeping?
In August it was so nice & refreshing to be in the air conditioning that I did nod off...but just for a few minutes. That little cat nap did wonders & I knew we'd be back to see it at least once more that trip since it's one of Rafikiman's favorites.

Re: Hall of Presidents - Sleeping?
Haven't slept through HoP, but our entire family may be guilty of nodding off at the American Adventure at Epcot.
We had the same thoughts of staying through another show just to get another 40 winks in. Pretty bad when there's 6 of us snoozin' away. It's just so relaxing!!

did u know that the presidents nod off too sometimes? It's a mechanism the imagineers made if at any time the animatronics malfunction during the show; the facial expressions and body movements make it seem like the presidents are nodding off. I have seen FDR fall asleep twice on separate occasions, so look out for him! So i guess my point is this, if the presidents can sleep through their own show, why cant we! lol.
but seriously, the show is great in my opinion, and although kids say its boring, after sittin through it for the first 5 or so minutes, they really do get into it! I mean, robots that really look life like! |

Re: Hall of Presidents - Sleeping?
I have never done HOP, because I *know* I would fall asleep! By the time I think of trying HOP, it's always the 4th or 5th day in my trip, and I'm already dead on my feet...I just don't think I'd make it. LOL. As it was, I found myself glazing over during Muppet Vision 3-D just 2 days ago! Pretty sad when you've got 3-D things flying at your face, and you STILL can't stay awake...
I'm so bad about scheduling rest time. I MUST REMEMBER this on our next trip! (I promise, more details in my trip report...coming tomorrow!! :))

Re: Hall of Presidents - Sleeping?
I've never fallen asleep in HoP, but my Dad has. I actually don't think he has ever sat through an entire HoP show without falling asleep.
My Mom has dozed off in Muppets, so maybe you can try there on your MGM day. ![]()

Re: Hall of Presidents - Sleeping?
I did not fall asleep during HOP but slept completely through the Americal Adventure show in Epcot. I was coming down with something and as soon as we sat down, I was gone and my party that I was with had to wake me with the movie was over. I never saw a thing. Sorry
