What do y'all think of short trips to WDW?

The AP's are burning holes in our pockets and I'm dying to go back to the World...

My dilemma is that due to hubby's work schedule, we are only able to get away for 4 nights in July. Is that enough time? I know that based on the 327,456 pages of trip reports I've read that plenty of folks make "quick" trips, but have any of you made a short trip (4 nights or less) and regretted it? Maybe wished you had saved that money to buy next year's AP's or something?

Is there a point where you'll say that it's not worth the trip if you can't stay for ___ nights?

Re: What do y'all think of short trips to WDW?

We have only been to WDW 2 times - one trip we stayed 4 nights the other only 2. We had a blast both times!

We are leaving this Saturday for 6 nights and I can't wait as it will be our longest trip.

Have fun!

Re: What do y'all think of short trips to WDW?

We've gone for as little as 3 nights before and of course we didn't want to leave when we had to but we still had a blast and had absolutely no regrets.

We went for just a 2 day visit when my son was 2.5 years old. (We did one day in MK and one day in MGM.) We have relatives that live in southern FL and others living in northern FL, so Disney is right on our way from one to the other! It was definitely worth it.

Re: What do y'all think of short trips to WDW?

We also have AP's that are burning a hole in my pocket - So we did a short trip in Feb (4 days/ 3 nights ) - Since we belong to DVC - It cost me points not $ - Since we had such a rotten winter it was nice to take a break

Re: What do y'all think of short trips to WDW?

We went one time for 2 days because my husband was in Orlando on business. I really wished we had more time but 2 days is better than not going at all. I'd go for the 4 days! You'll have a fantastic time!!!

I like the short trips! It gives you a little taste in between the longer stays and it makes you feel those APs were worth the cost! Use 'em and have a great time!

Oh my goodness! It sounds like if you are only going for a short while, you will need me to go along with you --- I am happy to carry your family's bags, taste-test the kids' mac n' cheese, get your FPs while you ride the rides, make last-minute PS and even flag down the monorail at the TTC for you!

How ever long you can go for, do it! I wouldn't miss the opportunity, even if it had to be a short trip!

Re: What do y'all think of short trips to WDW?

Never, never ever have I regretted a short trip!! We have been known to drive the 200 miles from home to WDW just for dinner! Most of our trips are just weekend jaunts (as opposed to vacations ) to visit the mouse and we always enjoy them. If I included all the weekend trips in my signature I would probably be reprimanded by Mickey I think alot of us that live fairly close to WDW make lots of short trips and enjoy them all.

Go!!! Go!!! Go!!!

Re: What do y'all think of short trips to WDW?

I really enjoy jetting down somewhere for a long weekend. I just went down to Arizona to play some golf for 3 days and loved it. I think that short trips are great as long as you don't set goals that are impossible to reach. I say do a few parks, pace yourself, and have fun. I hope that I can make one of those trips this year down to WDW!

Re: What do y'all think of short trips to WDW?

Y'all are TOO COOL!

I really am surprised at how many of you do the short trips....it totally goes against my upbringing, but I love it!!!!!! You know, this is part of what life is all about. Squeezing every minute of pure joy you can out of each day.

Here's a little related story about that.....When my hubby (baloo) and I got married, I was just 17 years old and he was 18 years old. Obviously we went from being kids to having our own jobs and apartment. One night we happened to be up watching t.v. around 11 pm and were both hungry. Hubby said, "I would love to have some pizza right now" and I agreed. We sat there for a few minutes until we realized that if we wanted pizza, we could order it (and we did)!!!! Sometimes it is just so incredible to break outside the norm and routines!

Thanks for all the posts....you've all got me so excited I can stand it! MissDisney, pack your bags!

Lisa
