Re: Our WDW Photos - Please Enjoy!

Thanks for the comments! :) No, tragic, I am very UNprofessional!

Some background on a couple of the pics:

#38, this was Katie's first "thrill ride" after experiencing the wild fun of the carousel and Dumbo. She was quite nervous heading in, but wanted to do it again after spinning her way to fun!

#42, Maddie asked Snow White, "Can I have your lips?" She's got this thing for my wife's makeup... Snow White obliged by giving her the big smooch that you can see planted on her cheek. Cinderella gave her one as well, and so did Belle. The kids LOVED the CRT breakfast.

#48, Tigger had just been by, and was his usual bouncy self. The girls asked Eeyore if he would bounce too. He thought about it for a second, and then gave a little hop which got us all rolling on the floor laughing! The Crystal Palace character dinner was definitely a highlight of the trip.

Thanks for looking.

Re: Our WDW Photos - Please Enjoy!

I loved your pics and I looked through some of your other galleries as well. I especially loved Disney in infrared (comes out B&W) and the Karate shots. My Dd used to take Karate and I have a lot of those shots myself, but none that look like yours. Truly exceptional, and my dad is a photographer for Nascar magazines. I was very impressed, especially with the fireworks shots. Fireworks are very hard to shoot.

Great pictures!! Your girls are beautiful, thanks for sharing.

We are looking at getting a new digital camera in the next couple of weeks. May I ask what kind you have? I have read so many sites and too much information, now I am on over load. I need real advice.

Re: Our WDW Photos - Please Enjoy!

Hey, wow, thanks for those kind words.

Regarding cameras, the infrared one is a Canon G1, which I had modified so it only shoots infrared now. I thought it was great when I took regular color shots, but I outgrew it and bought ... a Canon 10D, which is a digital SLR, and a few different lenses. I carry my gear around in a photo backpack which has an extra pouch that serves as a regular packpack to carry diapers, sippy cups, etc. (I can highly recommend one of the Lowepro All-Weather series, with a rain-proof outer cover, even if you are only getting a small point-and-shoot camera.)

One thing I would suggest is to first decide on your budget, then go compare the Canon, Nikon, Olympus and a few other brands in your price range. I don't mean compare on the web - just go to a real camera store and hold them, take a few practice shots, and see which one feels the best in your hands. In many cases the inner workings are very similar (for example, Sony makes ALL of the 8 megapixel chips used by five different camera manufacturers) so it comes down to features like size and weight, optical zoom (ignore "digital zoom," please!), and the company's reputation.

I picked Canon when I upgraded to a digital SLR because, at the time, they had a big technological lead over their rivals and because I already had Canon peripherals like external flashes, so it's a "system" that integrates well. If I were starting fresh, the Nikon D70 would get serious consideration.

If I have a bias, it's that you should buy one made by a camera company (the three mentioned above, for example) rather than a "consumer electronics" or computer company. I have no reason to support this, just a feeling that they understand their customer better. It's the same reason I went with Mouseketrips (specialist) when planning my WDW trip, rather than a general travel agent. ;)

Hope that is helpful.

Re: Our WDW Photos - Please Enjoy!

We really liked the Luau ... even the food was okay! ;)

Most important, the girls LOVED it. I was worried they wouldn't sit through it, especially 2-year old Madelyn, but she was fascinated by it all.
