Funniest WDW moment
I am really starting to get excited about my upcoming trip this month and I need some magic now. So I ask that you tell me about your funniest WDW moment. I dont care if it is about your hubby tripping on the diaper bag
or even your baby falling asleep on the teacups .....give them all to me. I need the magic.

Re: Funniest WDW moment
One of my favirote memories is last year. Me and my sister (she's 25 years old and it's her first trip there) were taking pics with Mickey and goofy in front of mission space. When she walked up to them both she hugged Mickey and not Goofy
, Goofy got really upset and started chasing her through the park. And everytime we saw them through out the day Goofy would chase her again. She turned into a ten year old child again . She was very unsure about the whole trip when I first made her go, now she says its the most magical place in the whole world.Tina

Re: Funniest WDW moment
I've told this one before - but it's worth telling again! When my DD was 5 (she's now 18), our family (me, DW, DS and DD) vacationed at WDW with our neighbors (a couple and their two sons). My DD at the time was a HUGE Cinderella fan and we had arranged to eat dinner in Cinderella's castle one evening. We arrived, met Cinderella and of course my DD was awestruck. After the obligatory snapshots of everyone with Cindy, we were shown to our table. A minute or two later, I looked for DD and couldn't find her! We panicked, had the staff searching and we looked all over. My son and one of the other boys came back a minute or two later grinning - they had found her back with Cinderella - posing for snapshots with other famlies!! We apologized, scolded DD and then laughed. Cinderella was very gracious about it, but was a little bit the worse for wear after dealing with DD! She even posed for another photo. I'm going to post it one of these days, to show everyone how my little angel could affect even Cinderella! To this day, however, people from far reaches of the globe get out their WDW vaca photos from long ago and say, "Hey, who WAS that kid, anyway??"

Re: Funniest WDW moment
Great stories guys and excellent thread!
Picture this. The year is 1997 (I'm telling this Sophia from the Golden Girls style...lol) me, my 3year old DD and my mother are at Chef Mickeys. My Dd was in LOVE with Minnie at the time. She was wearing a Minnie Mouse purple sun dress. Minnie comes around and makes a major fuss about the dress and my DD is in heaven. Next thing I know she is taking off her big girl panties and showing them to Minnie too In her denfense they were Minnie underwear and she wanted to make Minnie make a fuss over her "big girlness" Minnie was a bit baffled at first, but played it off well. I woner if she felt like one of those Vegas guys that gets panties chucked at them ![]()

Re: Funniest WDW moment
My story involves my hubby, and a seagull. To me and the kids, we thought it was quite funny how Daddy got "bombed" 2 years in a row...DH didn't think it was quite as funny....but now I have learned to carry an extra TShirt in the back pack just for him!!
Dana! That is way too funny! I can only imagine what those characters have seen through the years!! I hope that you NEVER let your DD forget that one!! BTW...I love the Golden Girls!!

Re: Funniest WDW moment
My funniest WDW moment happened in the Fantasia pool at All-Star Movies. It was pretty darn late at night, and there weren't many people in the pool. My best friend and I were swimming around just being really goofy, laughing hysterically at nothing, when I got kind of tired and swam over to the edge of the pool. I was hanging onto the edge when Melissa's jaw dropped and she said, "What is THAT?!?"
(Side note: I hate bugs. I really, really, REALLY HATE bugs.) I thought Melissa was joking, so I turned casually to my left and looked at the big black thing floating by my hand. For a second I just stared at it, thinking it was a piece of garbage, when I saw the wings. And the EYES. It floated a millimeter closer to my hand, and I SCREAMED. I flailed away from the wall so fast, I think I pulled several muscles, and I literally ended up halfway across the pool, splashing water and squealing and freaking out! I had the attention of the entire resort, and there were multiple people laughing--but no one laughed as hard as Melissa!! I made such a fool of myself, and Melissa practically laughed herself to sleep that night. We still talk about the "visitor" in the pool. LOL. ![]()

My husband and I went to WDW for our honeymoon back in 1995 & I wore a Winnie the Pooh shirt & I swear every CM said "Ewww you have pooh on your shirt" & I'd fall for every time. And still to this this day my husband & the CM's still do it & I fall for it every time!

Re: Funniest WDW moment
Mine is about by brother on our very first WDW trip in 1977. He was about 9, I think, and we were walking into the Pirates of the Carribean ride. There was a Hook Character standing at the entrance. My brother, thinking he was fake, was making faces and making fun of him, being the goof that he is. Then all of a sudden Hook tried to crab my brother. Well I never saw anyone run and scream so fast. He chased by brother for a few moments and needless to say, my brother never made fun of any character or statue the rest of the trip.

Re: Funniest WDW moment
My funniest moment has to be before we even got to WDW.
Our first trip there was a TOTAL surprise to our girls. 5 a.m. with video camera in hand my DH and I go in to wake our 2 wonderful DD. They were in bunk beds at the time and as my DH is waking them up saying.. " Guess what we're doing today" and explaining that we are going to WDW, my oldest DD , who was on the top bunk, starts to work her way down the ladder.. All sleepy eyed she looks right at me with the camera and says " Is he joking?" It was so precious. My mom was there too and she still remembers how stunned they were and how adorable it was to surprise them like that... Only WDW could work that kind of magic! |

Re: Funniest WDW moment
Mine is about my very first trip.
My aunt took me when I was 6. Of course, after she bought me my ears, I HAD to wear it all the time. On the way home, we were on the plane and a stewardess came up to me and said, "Matthew, did you have a good time at the Magic Kingdom?" I said yes, but I was a little freaked out. Then I looked at my aunt and asked her, "How did she know my name?" She laughed for a minute and smiled at me. Then she took off my Mickey ears and showed me. ![]()

Re: Funniest WDW moment
My funniest memory involves a frustrated CM. It was in July, 1976. Our family was going over to visit Tom Sawyer's Island. We were seated in the canoe and attempting to paddle. Splash, oops, sorry.... But the splashed water felt SO GOOD! Everybody on the canoe stopped paddling toward our destination and delighted in splashing all the passengers in the canoe. The employee though didn't enjoy this though. Apparently there was a contest going on. You know, who could get to the island the fastest. The passengers on our canoe are all laughing, splashing. But the CM is all red in the face, screaming "If those were REAL Indians, you all would be SCALPED by now!" Needless to say, our canoe lost the race.

Re: Funniest WDW moment
the funniest moment i can think of is when i went to take my picture with lilo and stitch at MGM. they were at the studio where you take the tour, i forget the name, and you get to meet the animators. anyway, i had mickey ears on at the time. as i approached lilo and stitch, i said "aloha" to them and did that hand signal for aloha. i turned to pose with them and stitch ripped my ears off my head and threw them on the floor. i heard a grunt from stitch and laughed so hard that my face is red in the picture.
the second funniest moment was when i met tweedle dee and tweedle dum and the white rabbit by the tea cups in MK. tweedle dee and tweedle dum fought over where to put me. they basically fought to put me between them and leave white rabbit to the side. then, tweedle dee and tweedle dum fought who was going to stand on what side of me. it was too funny. my face is red in that picture, too.
