Icon5 Should I keep B&TB castle in my proposed Disney park, or use one from Walt's era?

Many of you already know that I submitted a proposal for a new Disney theme park on this forum. I had selected Beauty and the Beast Castle for my Magic Kingdom park, but nowI'm having second thoughts. I was wondering if would be a bad idea to use this castle, since Beauty and the Beast was made many years after Walt Disney's death, and that the Magic Kingdom castle should be a tribute to Walt by using a castle from a cartoon/movie that he was behind the production of at Disney, or during his lifetime. BTW, Beauty at the Beast was made in 1991 during the Michael Eisner era, as he has been president of Disney since 1984.

If I should use another castle, I'm leaning towards Snow White's Castle; since Disneyland has Sleeping Beauty's Castle and WDW's Magic Kingdom has Cinderella's Castle; especially since I designed this as a U.S. theme park, dur primarily to familiarity with the culture. Also, I have no idea what Walt Disney Imagineering's (WDI) policy about using castles for Disney theme parks is, so I have no idea what to do. One of the things I do know is that The Haunted Mansion is placed in a different "land" for each Disney theme park (Liberty Square for WDW's Magic Kingdom, New Orleans Square for Disneyland, Fantasyland for Tokyo Disneyland, and Frontierland for Disneyland Paris), but that's another story!

Please LMK what you think I should do by casting your vote in my poll, which is attached to this message. I look forward to hearing from you!

it's a hard decision to make. it would be nice to have a B & TB castle but also it would be nice to have a Snow White castle. if i really had to pick one, i would say have snow white. after all, she's the first ever princess in the disney family.

In fact, Disneyland's castle was originally planned to be Snow White's Castle. However, that was changed at the last minute to promote the upcoming release of Sleeping Beauty.

This was also the reason Mad Ludwig's Castle in Germany was chosen as the "model" for Disneyland's castle, since the story of Snow White originated in Germany.

Both are good, but I do like the idea of Snow White's castle better.

When I started reading your post I was thinking - don't change it, I love your ideas. But, I have been thinking about it and I think that a Snow White castle would be great. Especially after hearing that piece of trivia from Disneyland.

I vote for Snow White!

Maybe you could use the dwarfs on the bridge to the castle. Instead of lampposts, you could have statues of the dwarfs holding lanterns. (Just having some fun!)

So far, I have 3 votes for Beauty and the Beast Castle and 3 votes for Snow White's, or a castle from Walt's era. Please keep the votes coming!

I like the idea of keeping it to something Walt would have known. It would stand as yet another memorial of Walt inside his empire.

Yes, inside the castle is a restaurant on the 2nd floor, much like CRT. This restaurant I named Lumière's, since I had originally planned this as Beauty and the Beast Castle. Lumière's has double the number of seats as CRT (260 as opposed to 130), which would make it easier to get PS for the character breakfast held each morning. Characters at this breakfast include Belle, Cinderella, Snow White, Aladdin, Jasmine, and Peter Pan (inside the dining hall), along with Aurora (Sleeping Beauty), who will greet guests in the lobby.
I placed Aurora in the lobby since she's the lesser-known of the Disney princesses, and would get more individual attention here!

Also inside the castle are Belle's Gallery (similar to The King's Gallery in Cinderella's Castle at WDW's Magic Kingdom), Heraldry Shop (similar to the shop inside Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland), and Mrs. Potts' Cupboard--which is an ice cream shop similar to the one in WDW's MK, but is located right by the castle's entrance into Fantasyland.

I also included a Beauty and the Beast dark ride (much like Snow White, Pooh, and Peter Pan's Flight) in the castle, which was be accessed on from inside the castle. I was seriously considering placing this in the domed ballroom on the castle's left side, if it's large enough to contain the ride.

I was planning to design Belle's castle like the Disneyland Paris castle with a few minor adjestments, such as the domed ballroom.

Of course, the names of some of these places will have to be changed if Snow White gets this castle instead, and possibly ever the castle's design as well.

Hope this helps!
