Is it OK to use paper tickets in the Fast Pass machine?

Hello!

This is such a great site. I learned so much for our trip last year. We're going again in September and I keep on learning! I bought a park hopper ticket from AAA before the most recent rate increase, and it's made out of paper -- not like the plastic ones you can buy at the Disney Store. I was wondering if there would be a problem using the paper ticket to get a Fast Pass. Has anyone tried this?

Our Annual Passes are paper and they work fine in the fastpass machines, so you shouldn't have any problems! Welcome to Disney Central. We are all always happy to answer any questions you may have!

We had annual passes that were paper and they worked just fine. As long as your passes have the strip on the back for the computer to read it shouldn't be a problem.

Yes, they wouldn't give paper tickets out to people and then not let them use the same services as those plastic ticket holders!

Welcome to DC, cincibar! We just got back from Disney a few weeks ago and used our paper 5 Day Hoppers in lots and lots of Fastpass machines. They work great! Good luck!

Thanks for the reassurances, everyone. Our September trip was the first time I used a plastic ticket and it was also our first time back to Disney since Fastpass became available. Silly, I guess, but for some reason I thought the paper tickets were older so maybe there'd be problems using them in those new machines! So glad that's not the case!

Towncar T -- thanks for the warning. We might try a waterpark and have been reading about water wallets, but I didn't think about the Kali River Rapids. We'll be riding it for the first time this trip. My 4 year old daughter is a little thrill seeker and she can't wait! Splash Mountain was one of her favorites last time.

All Disney tickets are paper. Even the ones you buy at the Disney get exchanged at the ticket window at WDW. The one exception to the paper tickets are the people that buy the packages, and get room + tickets. They put their tickets on their room key.

Welcome to DC Cincibar, One more word of advice, this happened to me in May... I had bought some of these little magnet lights and stuck it in the same pocket as my AP and it demagnitized it... Had to get a new AP...LOL.... I had heard of this happening to Credit Cards but it had never happen to me... but it did affect my AP... so if you get them wet or demagnitized they will replace them... with no problems.. ºoºJudy
