The newest Elephant has arrived at the AK

a new born elephant is doing well acording to local news reports after being born late tuesday night. the baby elephant weighed in at 230 pounds. below is a link to a local news story with picutures of the new elephant. I'd expect to see the new elephant out on the savanah in a week or two, but that is a guess so keep a eye out when your down here, there is a elephant already out there about 1 year old now, and disney has also said there are two more baby elephant's expecting to arrive in the future although no date was given.

I just love elephants!! We also saw them when we were there. After seeing the AK special on the Travel Channel, I want to go on the behind the scenes tour. It looks like you really get to see a lot of the behind the scenes.

By december there will be another one born and a few months old so keep a eye open for them.
