This is THE moment we've all been waiting for, the grand unveiling of Beauty and the Beast Castle from the Magic Kingdom theme park in my proposed Disney theme park resort! This was determined by the poll I conducted both here on DisneyCentral and on WDWMagic, where I designed my proposed Disney park, with the combined votes as B&TB Castle 15, Snow White's (or another Disney-era castle) 10. I finished this drawing last night, and just posted this to my photoalbum on WDWMagic just a few mniues ago. Here is the URL to the long-awaited drawing of Beauty and the Beast Castle! (drum roll please!):
![]() http://photoalbums.wdwmagic.com/show...hp?photo=10260 Beauty and the Beast Castle is laregly modeled after Slepping Beauty Castle at Disneyland Paris, but with many original features and designs as well. For example, the domed ballroom on the left side, which was taken directly from the 1991 movie, was added to the castle where the mountain/hill is located next to DLP's castle. Also, the middle portion of the castle behind the entranceway roof was raised one story higher, and an elaborate window pane similar to the one on Cinderella Castle at WDW and Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland was placed in the new top story (this window pane actually came from Mad Ludwig's Castle in Neuschwanstein, Germany, which Disneyland's castle was directly modeled after). The big tower was also raiser higher to keep the castle in its correct proportion, and a second observation balcony was placed near the top of the big tower as well (both Disneyland's and WDW's castle have two balconies on their big towers). I also placed a clock where DLP's castle has some kind of window-like structure on the entranceway roof. The castle's height was calculated at approximately 160 feet in height-- roughtly halfway between the heights of Cinderella Castle at WDW (180 feet) and Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland Paris (142 feet). The color scheme is basically the same as DLP's castle, with the notable exceptions of the lower balcony on the big tower, the winding staircase at the bottom of the big tower, and the balcony on top of the ballroom's rotunda; which will be gold-colored to make the castle different from DLP's, as well as fancier and more fairytale-ish/unreal looking. A good pic. of DLP's castle can be found at: http://photoalbums.wdwmagic.com/showphoto.php?photo=168 If anyone has questions, comments, and/or suggestions, please feel free to post! I look forward to hearing from you! ![]() Last edited by KentB3; 07-10-2004 at 02:47 AM. |

That is amazing. Great job!!! Big applause!!!
I've always wondered why there isnt a different castle in the different parks. There are plenty of princesses anyway.
