Tell me more about Epcot!!!

This is our 2nd trip to WDW and I am a planning fool!!! Last time we were there I was pleasantly surprised by EPCOT!!!! Our family LOVED EPCOT !!! Yes, I listened to too many people about how we would not like EPCOT!!! Boy were they wrong!!!!

As a matter of fact we got a kitten this year and we named her Disney but the other name I liked for her was Epcot!!!! Talk about obsessed with Disney huh???

Anyway I want to know more about Epcot!!! We did not do living seas!! Where is it?? How about the Figment ride??? Where is that??

What are some NOT TO BE MISSED things at Epcot besides the obvious like Test track and Mission Space??? We did Body wars and the one when you are inside a boys mind oh I remember it is called Cranium Command!! So tell me all!!! I do not want to miss a thing at Epcot!!!

We are ending the day with a Illuminations Cruise and dinner a Beaches and Cream!!!

Re: Tell me more about Epcot!!!

The Living Seas is (if you're standing with the Spaceship Earth ball behind you and the lake in front of you) to your right and then is the first building down (i.e. direction of parking lot) the path to the right . Figment is basically across from the Living Seas toward the lake direction in the Imagination pavilion.

My list is:
Spaceship Earth
Malestrum (Norway boat ride)
El River de Tempo (or whatever the boat ride in Mexico is called -- definiately something you should do once, and looking around the Mexican pavilion or eating there is good too)
American Adventure
Living With The Land (I think this might be temp. closed? can't remember. it's a boring boat ride that goes through the very cool greenhouse section where Disney grows fruits and vegetables via hydroponics)
Ellen's Universe of Energy (dinosaurs and Ellen - who could ask for anything more? even the pre-show here is NOT to be missed!)

Re: Tell me more about Epcot!!!

I personally love the Land Pavillion, The Living Seas is fantastic, and Spaceship Earth is a timeless classic. Oddly enough, I dont much care for Test Track. The rides in Norway and Mexico are good as well. The American Adventure show is something I enjoy, although not everyone does. The new Imagination ride is ok, but its just not the same at the original, and I guess I will never move on. My 3 favorite places to eat are: The Land Grill, Biergarten at Germany and Le Cellieur (sp?) at Canada.

I hope you enjoy your trip, but I know you will.

Re: Tell me more about Epcot!!!

Its to the left of the Wonders of Life pavillion. Its what used to be the Universe of Energy.

you know what I love about Epcot .. going over to the WSC ..finding a shady bench and just looking around at everything!! Its almost a sensory over load during the flower and garden festival. But if you sit near Japan, you can look out across the lake and watch the boats go back and forth.. ohh take a walk up to the bridge in japan ..its so pretty and there are those fish at the top in a little pond ..sometimes ducks with babies, UK .. go back to the garden area ..and in France do the same. Its so wonderful wondering in and out of the shops at all the countries.. I ohh and aww over things I cant afford. if you like chocolate .. Italy!!!!!! there are always shows going on ..like the Belly dancer across from Morocco or the living statues. and if you take the handicapped ramp up to Mexico ..you will see beautiful orchids and other tropical flowers !!

waaaaaaaaaa I feel homesick for WDW even more now !!!!!!!!!

Re: Tell me more about Epcot!!!

Just as a warning, Journey into Imagination is pretty, well, "trippy". Disney just can't seem to make that attraction what it could be, but its still a fun ride.

I actually haven't done Ellens Energy ride. I heard it lasts for 45 minutes! Is this true?

Re: Tell me more about Epcot!!!

ellen's ride is about 45 minutes long. you travel through so many time periods and the ride is slow but relaxing. if it's a hot day, ellen's energy ride is the way to go because you'll be inside for almost an hour!

Re: Tell me more about Epcot!!!

All of the rides and attractions are great at Epcot. However, some of my favorite things to see there is the many forms of entertainment that go on around the World Showcase over the course of the day. I recommend checking the schedule for these shows and make an effort to possibly schedule lunch or a break in the WS around one of these attractions. I personally enjoyed "The Beatle Invasion" that proforms at the England Pavilion.

Re: Tell me more about Epcot!!!

Ellen's Universe of Energy and Spaceship Earth are our favorites in all of Epcot, we also like all the rides mentioned above too. We have not tried Test Track or Mission Space yet as the last time we were there the TT was always a very very long wait and MS was not finished yet.

Re: Tell me more about Epcot!!!

I LOVE Figment! He is so cool. If you are traveling with kids that is a must do. Right next store is Honey I shrunk the audiance. I love that too!

Ellen's ride is great on a hot day and you must do Spaceship Earth.

The bakery in France is to die for.

Hope this helps.

You know Tink, knowing Disney, I bet if you ask for a diabetic menu they would have one.

One thing Mama always taught me, it never hurts to ask!

you could be right ..maybe they have a "made with splenda" section. I havent even been in the door since being DX because I know I would be too weak to resist the temptation. I am going to send my granddaughters in to check for me next month :) thanks for the suggestion!!!

Re: Tell me more about Epcot!!!

Actually,to be really picky,it's called Ellen's Energy Adventure. One tip about this ride is to try to be in the first travelling theater car to the left toward the front. If you are,you will be able to hear everything in the radio section after you leave the dinosaurs. The last travelling theater car comes in halfway during the presentation.
