Can someone please let me know how long before the show we should get there. My sister went and could not get in because it was full.

Re: Fantasmic

You are told to start lining up 90minutes before showtime. But... if you book a dinner package with one of MGM's restauraunts for dinner you get a pass to come back and get right in without waiting!!! Do it! It is the best show, but no one wants to wait in line that o\long, especially with itchy kids in tow. Call for a priority seating and ask for the Fantasmic Dinner Package. You can either eat at Mama Melrose, the Brown Derby, or THe Hollywood and Vine. Since I read in your other post that you have 3 children with you, I would go with Hollywood and vine. It is a buffet, all you care to eat, with lots of kid friendly items and a great dessert bar. It is also the least expensive of the dinner package choices. The server will give you a ticket for the fantasmic show to go into a special entrance with no waiting. This is the best way to do it, in my opinion.

Re: Fantasmic

Hello Suzanne! Nice to see you. I agree with karlie. 90mins is the suggested time without the package. You should book the fantasmic! package at one of the particiapting restaurants. You will have guaranteed seating and much less of a wait. Momma's and Hollywood and Vine are both great dinners!

Re: Fantasmic

It also depends on what time of the year you are going. If you are going, say,in January, when it is basically empty, you will have no problem getting a seat less than 30 minutes before the show starts.

Re: Fantasmic

Book dinner at Hollywood and Vine, it's a great all you can eat buffet, and then you will be guaranteed a seat without having to waste 90 minutes of your day waiting in line.

Re: Fantasmic

We did the package this past May at Hollywood and Vine. We finished eating at 8:30pm and went straight to the show. There was still plenty of room left to sit. And with a 4 year old and 2 year old, it was well worth it. I would never have been able to get there 90 minutes before! And keep calling back if you can't get a good time for the dinner package. When I called at my 90 day window, all they had was a 4:30pm dinner. I called back a couple of weeks before the trip and they had a 7:00pm opening.

Re: Fantasmic

We too did the Fantasmic Dinner and was great. We went to a waterpark for the day, went back to a resort, showered and went to MGM. My DH and DS went on TOT and we went to dinner at 4:30. After dinner, we went to the Sound Stage, came out 10 minutes before the parade, got the perfect seat, and then after the parade, went right in for Indiana Jones. We then took our time heading over, met with some characters and walked right in for the show. Nothing could have went any smoother that night.

If you do the dinner, you will have so much more time to see other things and not be wasting time sitting and waiting, just to sit and wait again once your inside.

Re: Fantasmic

We went just went last week on a Monday night. It was a 9pm show. We got there at 7:50. There was no line since the gates had already opened. We actually hung back a bit when we got to the seats because they route you where they want you to sit and we wanted to sit in the next section over. There were many seats still to be filled at that time. I brought a magazine. DH, dd (16) and ds (4) played Uno then walked around and got an ice cream bar when I held the seats. The wait time did not seem bad since we all had something to do.

Having said that I would still have gone with the dinner package before but I did not know for sure we were going until 6pm that night.

Re: Fantasmic

We did the dinner package last October. At the time we were unsure if it was going to be worth it, but it was great. The crowds were way larger than anticipated and my 2 DD's (4 and 6) would never have been able to sit and wait for 90 minutes. We ate at H&V, looked in a few shops and walked right into Fantasmic at the designated time. The great thing was that we were also able to exit a lot quicker than the crowds that choose not to take advantage of the dinner tickets. We had decided to drive our rental car over from the BC instead of waiting for the boat after the show. From the time the show was over and we were back at our hotel, only 15 minutes had elapsed, and, no, we were running. It was great! We will definitely do the package on our next trip too.

Re: Fantasmic

I would say a very minimum of 45 minutes. :) If you want a seat for Disneyland Fantasmic however, you'd better plop down a blanket about 3 hours early! LOL.

No, DL Fantasmic takes place on the Rivers of America, the waters surrounding Tom Sawyer's Island. This means that all of the seating is crowded up against the fence. It takes over the area in front of Pirates of the Caribbean, the Haunted Mansion, and the walkway to Adventureland...that entire area gets completely grid-locked an hour before showtime, and with 2 consecutive shows playing each night, it doesn't clear up until almost park close! They have dozens upon dozens of Fantasmic "guest control" running around in bumble-bee-yellow jackets and waving flashlights, just trying to keep traffic moving! Having a stadium would be such a dream...
