May Magic hours test?????

What were the results of the "test" disney did at WDW in May extending extra hours at night? The reactions here of people that tried it was really positive, any news whether this may become a reality anytime soon??

I haven't heard anything and I've been looking. All I heard were great reviews and I think it would be a popular thing to do! There are a lot more night people than morning people...especially at Disney!

Re: May Magic hours test?????

Disney will not released any results from a test like this. Last year, they did a fireworks test in the Magic Kingdom, and nothing came of it at all. I would like to see extended hours after the park closes, that would be much better for me than early in the morning.

I agree, Mickey,
I need that extra bit of rest in the wee hours, and it was nice to know we didn't have to rush around all day. We did have to plan to be at EPCOT early enough to get the ribbons, but we were able to squeeze in the other two parks as well before that without rushing around.

Re: May Magic hours test?????

My family always tells me they feel like I am a drill sargent at Disney because I make everyone get up at the crack of dawn to make that extra hour in the morning. It would be good to sleep one moring and go at nite instead.

Re: May Magic hours test?????

It would be great to be able to go into all of the parks when they weren't so crowded. We aren't early morning people either. We would love to be able to stay all of the parks after closing. Lets keep our fingers crossed that it comes back.

Re: May Magic hours test?????

We were there in May for 8 days and went to many of the "Magic Hour" nights. I think it's a great thing for guests that stay on property to get something for the "extra" you pay to stay on property. I could get a room for at least half the price off property but prefer to stay on property. Joe

Re: May Magic hours test?????

I see disney not going for this, reason being is they already have E ride Nights, if they put the extra magic hours into effect Disney won't make as much money off everyone.

I disagree. I think Disney would benefit from having more than E-Ride nights. I think if this did become a reality, more people would stay in Disney hotels to be able to take advantage of it. E-Ride nights are popular, but I think having a different park open each night would raise Disney's hotel business!

Re: May Magic hours test?????

Ok someone explain this to me please, but how do they do EMH at night? How can they round everyone up who isn't staying at the resorts and kick them out? Do you get some kind of wristband in the morning? What if it falls off or gets lost? This just doesn't make any sense to me.

Re: May Magic hours test?????

I wasn't at WDW in May, but I think they did it just like the e-ride bands. Before the park would close you would take your resort ID and get a band and only those with bands were allowed to ride the rides.

Re: May Magic hours test?????

Well I dont pay for E-ride nights .. the one time I did it was too crowded still to ride anything more then once. Besides E-ride is only for MK .. the Extra Magic evening hours would be at the other parks too. I think just like the morning EMH it gives people the incentive to stay at a WDW resort.

Re: May Magic hours test?????

I don't like getting up early in the morning when I am on vacation. So I would really like this. Even though my experience with the e-ride night was excellent, no lines at all and you were able to stay on the ride and ride again without getting off if you wanted to. I would like to be able to do it at other parks other then just MK.
