Character breakfast?

I read somewhere that you need to be on the phone before 7:00 am to get through to book a character breakfast. Is this just for the more popular Cinderella breakfast or for all of them? They seem to always just reference the Cinderella breakfast. I have 2 boys so we'll probably go to Mickey at the Contemporary and Donald's Prehistoric breakfast. Do you think I can call anytime to book those? How far in advance should you book the breakfast?

Thanks a lot! Shelley:)

If you can't get in the breakfast you want there is a new one starting up at Epcot in the Norway pavillion. It starts July 28, I think. There is also an ice cream social daily at the Garden Grill in Epcot that has Mickey, Donald and Chip and Dale. I think you can get reservations for it fairly easily. It is 6.75 a person.

The early phone calls are only required for Cinderella's Breakfast. You must call 60 days in advance, and you should be on the phone by 6:45 AM EST in order to get the time you want. I have been told that lately it isn't as big a rush, but I think that is dependent upon the day.

Chef Mickey's in the Contemporary is difficult to get a time, but if you call anytime close to 60 days out, you shouldn't have a problem. Same thing for Breakfastosaurus in Animal Kingdom Park. I would call as soon as you can, you can always change them later, but usually we work around character breakfast times, since they are the most difficult to get.

The breakfast at Cinderella's Royal Table is the most popular character meal but only begin calling 2-3 minutes before 7:00 as they don't open the phone lines earlier than 7:00. You've got to make your reservations quickly, of course, if you're visiting the parks during the peak tourist seasons. You've got a fairly good chance of getting reservations at the other restaurants you mentioned because #1 there's more seating available, and #2 they offer buffets (which often speeds up dining) while CRT has waiter/waitress service. Your top priority should be to make reservations at Chef Mickey's first as it's more popular than the breakfast at AK.

The afternoon ice cream social at the Garden Grill in Epcot is a good deal at $6.75 per person but please note that the characters appearing there are Mickey, Chip 'n' Dale, and Pluto (not Donald Duck as previously mentioned).

Please enjoy!

One more thing: In case you can't get a reservation at Chef Mickey's for breakfast, you may wish to consider trying to reserve a spot there for their character dinner buffet.

Please enjoy!

The last time I was at disney it was my grandmothers 83rd birthday and she wanted to go to a character breakfast (lol!!) So the DAY BEFORE her birthday we went to the contemporary in person and made reservations, i guess we got them so soon was becuase we went in dec. when its the least crowded time, lol. You never know, luck may be with you when you call! .....I LOVED chef mickeys by the way.

Does anyone know if it's been a little easier to get Cinderella reservations since Disney started a new policy about taking credit card numbers and limiting the amount of reservations one can make?

Yensidfan, welcome to DisneyCentral. When I spoke with CRO last week about the new breakfast in EPCOT, I asked about Cinderella's. It was about 4:00 PM, EST, and there were over thirty PS for breakfast available for the day 60 days out. She looked at the 7 days before that, and each day had more than 10 openings per day. I think a lot has to do with which day you are trying to get. These were in early September, so it won't be too crowded, but I would bet if you are trying to get them during Thanksgiving or Christmas, it will be just as difficult as before.

Character Meal PSs

It is true in the case of the Cinderella Royal Table Breakfast and Dinner...you pretty much have to be on the phone trying to call when they open the phone lines at 7a. As for the remaining character meals, you should make them as soon as you are sure of your plans and meals just to ensure a seating and time condusive to your schedule.

My family starts their first official full day by having breakfast at Chef Mickey's then ride over the Magic Kingdom via the monorail.
