Surf's up at Typhoon Lagoon!

Our local newspaper ran a story this past Sunday about surfing at Typhoon Lagoon. I thought I'd share it with you to give you some added things to do on your next Disney vacation!

For $1000.00 to $1300.00 you can "rent" Typhoon Lagoon and go surfing! You get 100 waves and can surf the waves one person at a time. Now, you have to pay attention right from the start because if you miss a wave it will be subtracted from your total. You can bring your own CD's to be played over the loudspeakers, if you like. But know that you will be "drilled" about the lyrics and told that the CD's will be stopped immediately if the language is offensive (even though you are the only one in the park at the time). The cost will depend on the time - early morning - 5:30 or after park hours.

Don't know how to surf? No problem. For $125.00, 3 times per week, lessons are available at Typhoon Lagoon at 6:30 a.m. I have been planning on doing this for my next birthday. It sounds like fun and, besides, I'd rather take in a mouth full of chlorine than salt water while I'm learning. :p

Have fun out there!

How cool!!! I knew disney was offering surfing lessons but I never knew they were renting the water park!! Being the only person in that gigantic wave pool and listening to your own personal cd's must be awesome! The price is a little to high for me, but if you reealllly wanna surf on your next vacation, what a better place then disney world! lol. You gotta tell us all about it if you do it!

My cousin is taking lessons this week when we go to WDW. I'll let you guys know how it was! From the information we were able to find -- it looks very difficult.

I've been twice! Once with my friends and once with a big surfing company. It was great and you don't have to worry about sunburn. :p
