"Soarin" attraction at EPCOT

Hi everyone,
just saw some pictures of the new attraction at EPCOT. This my favorite attraction at Disney's California Adv. Does anyone know if it will be the same movie, which focuses on CA. It is so wonderful, with its' sights, smells and moves!

It also looks a lot bigger at EPCOT (connected to the LAND), in CAL alot of the building goes into the ground, like SM and Indian Jones, perhaps EPCOT's has more "screens"

Re: "Soarin" attraction at EPCOT

I am assuming it is going to be the same film, though I did hear rumor at one time that it could be a "soarin over the USA"! Wouldn't that be cool?

Thanks for that link.
Yes, the fragrances in this new attraction is a great reminder of Horizons (who can forget the oranges)

Have a wonderful night all.

Nope, there will only be 2 screens =( Which sucks, because it definitely needs more than that if its going to manage WDW summer and holiday crowds!

Re: "Soarin" attraction at EPCOT

I agree totally, it is not the fastest moving line at DCA, and it was not tremendously crowded.
None the less, another "E" ticket ride!!!

Re: "Soarin" attraction at EPCOT

You would be shocked by the number of Disneyland CMs who told guests the WDW version was going to be "Soarin' Over Florida." They were all like, "Well, of course it's not going to be California. It's in FLORIDA!"

Ugh. Misinformed CMs can be soooo irritating! (At least to me, while I was working there.)

I'm very glad it's going to be the same version, because it will be a great attraction for Epcot. I'm amazed that there are only going to be 2 screens, though! Whew.

Aww, well this new Soarin attraction better be good, since they took away "Food Rocks." Man, I loved that show.

Re: "Soarin" attraction at EPCOT

Well as much as I love Mission Space, that is still sacred ground for Horizons - in my book.

But in this case, I think Soarin is one of the most beautiful, exhilerating attractions to date.

Food Rocks will live on in our memories, just like Horizons.

I bet you'll love it.

Re: "Soarin" attraction at EPCOT

Guess I'm the only one who really doesn't like Soarin...and I think putting Soarin over Cali at Epcot is a horrible, horrible idea. Why don't they come up with other rides instead of making clones? Putting the same rides here and there gives the customer no reason to take a trip to both area's. Disneyland and the 4 parks at Disney are turning into clones.

Re: "Soarin" attraction at EPCOT

Hi MetalFan,
While I do think this is a cool attraction, I agree with you about "cloning" attractions. This wonderful technology should adapt more to the surroundings. As with the California version, this new Florida exhibit could focus on the rich heritage of the Southern States. Soaring through the everglades, and the beautiful coastlines.
With the $$$ put into these attractions, I would think a new film would be deserved.

Re: "Soarin" attraction at EPCOT

ok yall, hey I got some info on Epcot's Soari'n. My Aunt has been at CM at DL now for almost 45 years so I get alot of the info on WDW and DLR. Epcots Soarin is about the same size as DCA's, theirs just doesnt go into the ground like ours so its taller. The Screen size will be about the same as DCA's and the film will be the same as DCA's. But their will be a new film coming out for the 50th Anniversary, with an overview of DL at the end all decorated for the 50th Anniversary. Ive also heard before the overview of DL they will have overviews of DLP, DLTokyo, HKDL, and of course the wonderful WDW. Im not sure how true the film info is because Ive only heard about it, but I know for a fact they are coming out with a new film for the 50th and to also be more updated for WDW's new Soari'n. As for Metalfan, I do very much agree with you, they should not make clones of this ride (or any ride, but u know how that works), they need to make a new different ride for Epcot instead of copying ours and bringing it to them, but now it wont be a must see thing at DL since they will have one at WDW and there wont be any real reason to come to DL/DCA, you all know what I mean (no offense anyone on the cloning the ride thing)...BUT this is also a good thing because now everyone at WDW will be able to experience this wonderful ride as well as us over here at DL. But you never know, maybe in the future they will make a movie that is Soari'n over Florida...that would be soo cool too. Well ttyl yall. :-)
