Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party
I'm going to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party on Thursday, Dec. 12th. I was hoping it wouldn't be too crowded, but alot of reviews I've read have said otherwise.
I was wondering if I could get some input from people who have been. Is everyday crowded? Are weekdays alot less crowded? Is Thursday a good day to go? If it is crowded when I go, will the lines be long? Are there any restaurants open in the park during MVMCP? What kind of cookies do you get (this question is from my son :o )? ANY AND ALL TIPS OR HELP IS APPRECIATED!! :angel Thanks a bunch. |

I love MVMCP!!:D It is so much fun. Plus, it is at night (which is beautiful in the MK anyway) PLUS snow on mainstreet (which is only very small bubbles). It is magical. Yes, there are alot of people, especially in the areas of the free refreshments and complimentary photos. But, the rides have no lines and many nooks are empty.
If I remember correctly, they offer a variety of cookies and the yummiest hot chocolate you have ever tasted! Plus, candy canes. Remember, they limit the number of tickets sold. People will always be concentrated in the areas of the shows and parades. BTW, DH and I ate at Tony's one year during MVMCP

We have been several times during the first week in December, and I have found it to be not too crowded. Usually, during the day, the parks aren't crowded, and the weather is great. The thing about MVMCP is that is is a very special event, and there are many locals who come to that as well as those who are on vacation. The do limit sales of tickets, but it does get crowded, and usually sells out. At least you are going on a Thursday, it shouldn't be too bad. Weekends are always sold out, and usually several weeks in advance. I am sure you won't have any problem getting on rides, or doing what ever else you want.

We have been twice and both times there were crowds but they were all in the streets! We walked onto all the rides with no waits, saw Carousel of Progress which is usually closed when we go, and even found places where the cookies and hot chocolate were not crowded. It you can stay to the end it really clears out after the parade and you are able to enjoy the decorations and ambience in relative peace. They do limit ticket sales to a very manageble limit and have added extra days which helps spread out the crowds. You will have a great time and will find it well worth the money. It was the highlight of both of our trips!

We went in 2000. Overall, we loved it. Attractions that appeal to the younger folks (Carousel, Dumbo, etc.) were very crowded and very long lines. But, we were able to ride Splash Mountain 2 times with no wait. The "snow" on Main Street was great!

We went to MVMCP last year at WDW it is amazing!! Disney during christmas is just beautiful!! I warn you though mvmcp will be very crowded! We never got our free pic or hot chocolate becuase the lines for it were wayyyyyy to long. There also is a show they have on the castle's stage, We saw it twice! It features all the disney characters, with a christmas theme, they sing carols and have the nutcracker and ballarinas (sp?) come out and dance, i recommend u see it. If your going to mgm studios on your trip you cant miss the Osborne Family Spectacle of lights!! There are millions, literaly, millions of christmas lights allll over the place! Its so cool! The snow they have in the magic kingdom and mgm studios is really soap suds that they blow out from the top of the roofs. It looks real from far away, but when your in the middle of it, its like getting a bath! Just dont open your mouth and stick out your tongue! lol. . Hope you have lots of fun, oh yeah, and welcome to disney central!! .
joe:) p.s. if ur wondering i took this from my reply to ur monorail question, i thought it fit better here. i deleted the other reply.

MVMCP
I'm going to WDW in Dec 2002 also. (Just made our reservations yesterday.) I was holding off buyng tickets to MVMCP till finding out if Sunday would be a good day to go. It sounds as if Thursday would be a better choice. How does one find out the different locations for the photos and complimentary refreshments? :D
