Hopefully still coming to WDW due to hurricane
We have had this WDW trip planned for over a year now and are due to arrive this Saturday. We are driving and will be coming from southern missouri and thru georgia where this hurricane weather is approaching. Can anyone tell me if they think WDW will be affected by this? I will CRY if I can't make it!! Any driving tips?? Hopefully WDW bound in 2 days!!

I would be much less worried about the condition of WDW and more concerned about driving. The weather in Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia and northern Florida is going to be horrible for driving starting tomorrow night.
This map (http://www.w3.weather.com/maps/news/...dex_large.html) shows the projected path of the CENTER of the storm, meaning that it will cut a path of bad weather at least 100 miles on either side of it. You might want to consider delaying your travel plans by a day, only to avoid driving right through a hurricane. Call Disney. I'm sure they won't penalize you for it. If you do decide to drive down on schedule, just be very careful and give yourself extra time.

Be safe and remember WDW isn't going anywhere. Take an extra day if you have to. Better to get there in one piece...

I am like you. I would cry as well. we are leaving next sat and everyone is all hyper about the storms. we are flying but i am going no matter what. see if you can find out about traffic routes and which will be affected for the evacuations. i know i am stupid but stubborn

Cindy you're not stupid. I'm driving tomorrow afternoon from PA with DH, and we're going no matter what. Although I 95 is clear of Ivan. It doesn't look like Jeanne is much to worry about in the US either.

i hope that you guys don't run into Ivan on your way to WDW. i'm praying that he misses you guys completely so that you can make it to WDW safe and sound. by the way, that is an awesome picture of the eye of hurricane ivan. thanks for sharing it with us.
