Food & Wine Festival at Epcot

We happen to be going during the festival time. We have never been to it. I do not go to Epcot very often and am a little leary about bringing my 2.5 year old. I thought though he may enjoy the mask making. Is that at each country ??? Was thinking maybe he could do that while we snack on food and wine.

Anyone bring little ones and how did it go over??

Re: Food & Wine Festival at Epcot

We were at Epcot in 2002 on the last day of the Food & Wine Festival. It was VERY VERY crowded in the World Showcase where all the stands were set-up for the festival. You may want to rethink your plan.

The Food & Wine Festival is one of our favorites every year. DW and I usually go twice a week during the Festival so we can hear all the artists who perform at the Eat to the Beat concerts.

In addition to all the food stands, there are lots of other interesting things to do like free wine tastings and cooking demonstrations. The Festival program you get when you enter gives you a day-by-day breakdown of what and where everything is happening. As far as we're concerned, it's a not-to-be-missed event every year. You can read more details of the Food & Wine Festival.

As for crowds, in all the years we've attended and as many times as we've gone, we've never had a problem. The entire month of October is annually among the slowest at WDW. There are always exceptions, but I really wouldn't let that deter you.

We have been to the food and wine festival twice. We love it!!! Once it was just DH and I, and once we had our two DS's with us. It is a great opportunity for youngsters to try a little bite of foods from other places without having to spend a fortune if they don't like it. We discovered that our sons LOVE paella!

Re: Food & Wine Festival at Epcot

We are going this year to the Food and wine Festival with my DM, DSF, and DD and are looking forward to it. My DD is 11 and game for trying any food once. She also loves to add to her mask in every country, and be sure to get the passport and get it stamped from every counrty in the world. It makes a cool souvenir and eavery country will sign hello and the child name in their native language. It was too cool.

Re: Food & Wine Festival at Epcot

We go to the Food and Wine festival just for the entertainment. They have some great performers past and present that put on a great show at the American Garden theater. I got up on the stage with Chubby Checker and did the twist on Saturday night then went back and did it again Sunday night! Joe

Re: Food & Wine Festival at Epcot

I think the schedule of performers is available on the WDW website.

I love the concerts and the free seminars, but I think the booths are way over-priced for the miniscule portions you get.

Here's the Eat to the Beat concert schedule. It's probably the strongest lineup they've ever had, especially when you consider that it includes the Beach Boys. They'll only be performing for two days, but where else can you see the Beach Boys for free? I know, you've still got to buy park admission, but you've got to do that anyway.
